Yak Meat Barley - If you have never tried yak meat, then it might be time to arrange a China vacation. The Tibetan people of China in particular are known for consuming yak meat. They also drink yak milk with regularity and use the milk to make butter and yogurt. Yak meat barley (pictured) is among the most popular yak meat dishes in China. It is rather rustic and hearty. The popularity of yak meat and barley in the Tibetan lands has everything to do with the fact that at such lofty altitudes, there's not much more that you will find in the way of food. Vegetables are certainly scarce. Many foreigners find yak meat to be quite tasty, by the way.
