The Hong Kong Disneyland resort comprises the Disneyland Park and two distinct Hong Kong hotels on Lantau Island. The 310-acre resort is incorporated into the southern end of the island against a green, hilly landscape only ten minutes from the airport by light rail and 25 minutes from Hong Kong. Planning Disney vacations at Hong Kong’s theme park entails little work to fine-tune holidays to personal specifications. The resort in Hong Kong is smaller than its counterpart in Tokyo—Tokyo’s resort consists of both Disneyland and DisneySea so it does take more time to explore in detail. The smaller size of Hong Kong’s park means exploring for shorter time periods and likely booking shorter stays at Hong Kong Disney hotels.
Hong Kong Disneyland differs little from the original park in Anaheim, California. Small but important differences imply sensitivity to Chinese culture; Cantonese and Mandarin speaking staff, traditional Chinese menus alongside American favorites, and an integral, Feng Shui design. The park itself is fashioned identically in theme after the original, with AdventureLand, FantasyLand, TomorrowLand, and Main Street U.S.A comprising the Hong Kong Disneyland resort. Add in two Hong Kong Disneyland hotels to enjoy an incredible theme park topped with everything necessary for a complete experience.
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
The Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is built northwest of the Disneyland Pier on Lantau Island. It is set south (within walking distance) of the main gates and Main Street USA. Anyone looking for a seamless Disney experience—not having to leave and re-enter the resort grounds or island—will enjoy the hotel and accompanying Disney theme. With a relatively short history, the Disneyland Hotel is a newer facility set on the water, offering many special offers and vacation packages. Guest rooms include standard sea and garden views for up to four guests. Fantasia rooms and executive floor Kingdom Club rooms are larger corner units. The largest accommodations are Kingdom suites with master bedrooms and sitting rooms. Recreation is a large part of Hong Kong Disneyland hotels, with mazes, swimming pools, and sports available. Live music and kid’s activities finish the list of things to do within the hotel. Two restaurants feature Chinese and American cuisine, with an additional bar, lounge, and salon also onsite.
Disney’s Hollywood Hotel Hong Kong
Only two minutes west of the Disneyland Hotel is Disney’s Hollywood Hotel Hong Kong (pictured), the second of two Hong Kong Disney hotels. Vintage cars, and tons of classic Hollywood attractions, such as the famous Hollywood sign, are a part of the Hollywood Hotel, defined by lush gardens and a large swimming area. Park, garden, and sea views are hotel room options. Each includes a king size bed or two doubles, high-speed Internet access, and a flat-screen TV. Transportation for guests is via complimentary limousine service to and from the port entry. Valet and laundry service add convenience to vacations. The international buffet is the main dining choice where dinner is the main attraction, prepared in an open-concept kitchen. The outdoor barbeque restaurant provides a wide variety of Chinese and various Asian fare served under the stars on a large terrace. An art deco lounge, pool bar, and snack bar complete dining options, offering both full-service and on-the-go meals while staying in the Hong Kong Disneyland resort.
