Lijiang Hotels

Stunningly picturesque and located in the Yunnan Province, Lijiang China has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visitors here are treated to a fantastic travel experience that is high on vistas, if not a bit low on oxygen. Lijiang is found on the road towards Tibet, and according to some, the surrounding region is about as beautiful as it gets. Should you be headed to Lijiang on your China vacation, you'll enjoy a pretty healthy list of Lijiang accommodation choices. For those looking for cheap lodging in Lijiang, there are a good array of guesthouses to choose from, most of which feature dormitory-style lodgings that are low on amenities, but extremely easy on the wallet. The newer part of town offers up some nice upscale Lijiang hotels for those looking to splurge a bit more, and overall, there should be a Lijiang accommodation choice to fit most budgets and needs. The summers here can get pretty crowded, so it's a good idea to book Lijiang China hotels in advance during the warmer season. You might also notice inflated rates during the summer. The following are a few Lijiang accommodation options that are among the best in town. Other Yunnan hotels are also worth checking out, but many visitors to the region prefer to stay in Lijiang for the well-preserved old town.
While cheap lodging in Lijiang can easily be found around town, many looking for budget hotels in Lijiang opt for the Wenhai Eco-Lodge, which is found a bit off the beaten path. If you like hiking and spectacular scenery, then this is the place for you, even if you are accustomed to more luxurious accommodations. A peaceful mountain retreat, the Wenhai offers 12 recently renovated rooms, and though they are low on amenities, they are clean and comfortable nonetheless. The bathrooms here are shared facilities, and you'll be happy to know that western-style, sit-down toilets are standard, which can be a luxury of sorts in this part of the world. Guests can enjoy the enclosed dining and sitting area to relax with a book or to engage in conversation, and the outdoor patio affords excellent mountain views. There is also a small library, and the friendly staff goes a long way to help you feel at home. Meals (breakfast and dinner), which are included in the rates, are prepared by top local cooks. They are generally of the vegetarian variety, unless you stipulate otherwise. Guests at the Wenhai Eco-Lodge can choose to get here by hiking up the mountain, which can take up to 6 hours. If you're not up for a hike like that, you can arrange for a van to transport you up to the lodge.
Boasting an ancient construction style that helps to distinguish it among the other hotels in Lijiang, the WangFu Hotel is a great, mid-priced Lijiang accommodation option. Besides having a name that is fun to say, the WangFu offers 92 guest rooms, among which you'll find 76 twin rooms, 12 deluxe rooms, and 2-each of the normal and deluxe suites. While some visitors prefer to stay at one of the Lijiang hotels more in the center of old town, others will appreciate the WangFu's more quiet location at the south end of old town. The rooms here are clean and pretty well-decorated, each with a pretty nice private bathroom. Room amenities include a Kimono bathrobe, slippers, broadband internet access, satellite cable TV, a mini-bar, an in-room safe, and a small fridge, among others. A good breakfast is included in the rates, and all in all, it's hard to find other hotels in Lijiang that offer the same value in this price range.
The 4-star Zen Garden Hotel is an elegant and charming choice for Lijiang hotels, and it's got what has to be one of the best hotel staffs in the city. Found in a tranquil part of town, the hotel terrace offers some splendid views of the old city, and since there are only 16 rooms, the staff to guest ratio is in the guests' favor. There is a business center, a coffee shop, a good Chinese restaurant, and free WiFi internet access for guests to take advantage of in the lobby area, and you can kick back at the bar and lounge to spend some down time with friends old or new. The nice rooms here aren't over the top, but they are well-decorated and quite clean and comfortable. The modern amenities, such as A/C, cable TV, and broadband internet access, help to make the higher rates justifiable, and it's hard to top the authentic, rich furnishings throughout. There is a computer for guests to use in the lobby if they are without, and a good breakfast is included in the rates.
Working our way up to the more expensive Lijiang accommodation choices, the Lijiang Guanfang Dajiudian hotel is a wonderful choice for families. Hailed as one of the few 5-star Lijiang China hotels, the Lijiang Guanfang Dajiudian is found between the old and new parts of town, and the hotel travel agency can help you book tours in the area. Computers and internet access are available to guests, and the rooms are quite spacious. Room amenities at this nice Lijiang accommodation choice include comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, A/C, satellite cable TV, a mini-bar, an in-room safe, and a hair dryer. There are 3 restaurants on-site that serve up some tasty fare, a nice lounge, and indoor swimming pool, a health club, a bowling alley, and a nice shopping arcade. You can even drop in on the hotel's salon if you please. 24-hour room service is part of the deal here, and there is even a night club here where you can unwind after a long day out and about.
