Mt Emei. Mt Emei is one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China. These mountains are known for their association with the establishment of Buddhism in China and have long served as important pilgrimage destinations. Mt Emei is actually where China's first Buddhist temple was built. All told, no less than 76 Buddhist monasteries are found on the sacred mountain. Also responsible for drawing in tourists is the beautiful scenery of the Mt Emei Scenic Area. In reference to location, Mt Emei is found near Emeishan City in Sichuan Province.
