Dali Bai Festival. The Bai People of Southern China are known for several different things, including their colorful festivals. The most renowned of these festivals is commonly known in English as the March Fair, though you might also hear it being referred to as the Third Fair or the Dali Bai Festival. Held during the third lunar month from the fifteenth day to the 21rst day, this March Fair takes place at the base of Mt. Cangshan in Dali and is a multi-faceted affair. Originally a religious festival, the March Fair of the Bai has come to encompass many different things, including the trade of regional goods and the observance of traditional dance performances.
