The Malaysian Zoological Society manages Zoo Negara, an almost 50-year-old zoo and one of the biggest Kuala Lumpur attractions for families. The zoo is  home to more than 5,000 species such as the beloved Orangutan, lions, giraffes, and unique amphibians. The newest addition to the zoo is the Insect Zoo, incorporated in 2009. The Tunku Abdul Rahman Aquarium features four distinct zones that includes a mangrove zone and also a marine zone presenting deep sea exhibits and coral reefs. The zoo, located at  Hulu Kelang, 68000 Ampang, Selangor Darul Ehsan, is open year-round from 9am to 5pm. There are several ticket options available for exploring different parts of the facilty.
