Langkawi Malaysia

Langkawi Malaysia

One of the most sought after getaways in South East Asia, Langkawi Malaysia is an archipelago surrounded by 99 stunning natural islands.  This Malaysia resort's idyllic location is famous for top rated Langkawi hotels, well-known legends of princesses, ogres and giant birds and many geological curiosities such as misty mountains, enigmatic islands, lakes and transcendental caves.

Langkawi has some of the best and most beautiful Malaysian beaches in the entire country with Pantai Cenang being one of the most favored. Tropical sun, white sand and soft breezes define these major attractions in Langkawi. Pair the beach with great Malaysian spas in the area for the perfect balance. Rich culture on Langkawi makes island exploration fun and exciting. Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls is one of the natural wonders many visit during a trip to Langkawi Malaysia encompassing more than 90 meters of cascading water.

Underwater World Langkawi reveals more than 500 species in exciting aquatic displays on a tour of Langkawi. Though to be a cursed cast of the giant Mat Raya,  Gunung Raya is a mountain towering over 800 meters. Maintaining simple and traditional lives the residents of Pulau Tula, the only other inhabited island in Langkawi Malaysia and predominantly Muslim, is often visited by tourists. Glass bottom boat tours aboard Langkawi Coral are high on the list of many for seeing the coral gardens among the waters of Pulau Payar.

Langkawi bars are the perfect place to kick back, sip on a tasty tropical drink and meet other like-minded travelers. The MusicRoom Discotheque and the MusicRoom Pub are two leading Langkawi bars. The pub is a combination of a nightspot and beach resort while the disco is popular for karaoke. Five fun cocktails bars dot the island with the Marine Bar and Lounge being the biggest crowd-pleaser. Langkawi bars also include the hip Sunken Pool Bar and Reggae Bar. Contrary to popular belief these bars are better for watching the sunset than hearing pulsating tunes. Fresh fruit cocktails can be enjoyed at both locations.

Attractions in Langkawi include a closer look into traditional life at the Kedah Traditional House complete with free admission. Customary adornments and carvings are included in the original building of the house and indoors you can see a historic baby’s cot, intriguing antique furnishings and a yellow silk bridal bed. During your tour of Langkawi head to kitchen at the back of the house which is replete with earthenware pots highlighting cooking methods used in history and even today.

Island-hopping is another of the fantastic things to do and is one of the biggest attractions in Langkawi. Boat tours take visitors to beautiful islands such as Pulau Beras Basah with lush mountains and jungle areas, Pulau Dayang Bunting and Pulau Singa Besar. Swimming and snorkeling can both be enjoyed from the powdery Malaysia beaches. Other attractions in Langkawi include Kuah where the pulse of the area is found. Lying on the eastern point Kuah is also the gate to nearby islands. Lacking an overcrowded feel this is a great spot to see many attractions on a tour of Langkawi. Dining, shopping and sightseeing are excellent in Kuah.

A Langkawi tour should include a stop at Gua Cerita. Containing two natural limestone caves, lying one on top of the other and confronting the ocean, these caves are connected to tales of romance and intrigue. Sacred Jawi writings, circa 1754,  adorn the walls roughly 8 meters from the entryway. Catch a boat from  Pantai Tanjung Rhu for a Langkawi tour of the caves.

Attractions in Langkawi are plentiful and many different kinds of activities can be appreciate. Jungle tours, fine sand beaches and boat trips are just a few. Relax on the beach or head out for relaxed nightlife. The rustic and beautiful surroundings are the perfect backdrop for nature lovers. Eat fantastic food to your hearts content or opt for some inland adventure and take in the exciting sights and sounds of this fantastic Malaysian destination.
