Taman Negara National Park

Taman Negara National Park

Taman Negara National Park is situated on peninsular Malaysia in Pahang and spans 4,343 square kilometers. Originally established as the King George V National Park the name was changed after Malaysia gained independence. Since first being established circa 1930's Taman Negara Malaysia is believed to be the oldest tropical rainforest in the world, older than both the Congo and the Amazon, spanning some 130 millions years. Flora and fauna abound in staggering numbers in this lush, equatorial paradise. Though the list of species living in Taman Negara Malaysia is endless, some include, Tigers, Malaysian Sun Bears, Sumatran Rhinoceros, Asian Elephants, and much more! This destination is high on the list of many who also want to visit the Borneo Rainforest on the island of Borneo.

Many take Malaysia vacations to the area because of their love of nature and the numerous things to do inside Taman Negara Malaysia. If you’re not a nature lover, this won’t be for you. Canopy walks, Malaysia tours on the Pahang River and jungle treks are just some of the activities offered. The canopy walk is one of the longest in the world and extends more then 460 meters across and 40 meters high. This is a favorite among tourists on Malaysia holidays as the phenomenal bird’s eye view is breathtaking. There are also cave systems that beckon to be explored during your Taman Negara holiday. Eco- tourism abounds and a Taman Negara resort is not hard to find. Note that all park visitors have to obtain permits from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks.

During your Taman Negara holiday you’ll forget all about city life and shopping or elegant dining will be far away from your mind as you enjoy this natural paradise. Accommodations come in a variety of options when looking for a room for your Taman Negara holiday. Mutiara Taman Negara Malaysia is described as a “natural sanctuary” flanked by tropical greenery and rambling valleys.  Transportation to this Taman Negara resort is by river boat, which is included in the rate, and coach transfer can also be arranged from Kuala Lumpur.

Five different packages are offered for guests, each providing a variety of things to do. Two favorites are fishing and white water rafting in Taman Negara rivers. 108 rooms at the Mutiara Taman Negara come in form of timber chalets, guest houses and bungalows from basic to luxurious. Dorms, hostels and a campground are also available to let. Rooms contain cold and hot showers, ceiling fans and air-conditioning. Chalets and bungalows have slightly upgraded amenities and river view terraces.

Taman Negara Resort is another great place to stay during your jungle retreat. This resort offers completely hassle-free travel with all transportation, meals, accommodation and activities included. Private guides maximize your Taman Negara holiday experience with vast knowledge about the rainforest and all the trails and paths. The guides will also help guests spot hidden wildlife and tree dwellers. Boating, white water rafting, jungle treks and exploratory walks as well as canopy walks and more are offered.

The Taman Negara rainforest is one of the most exotic and stunning natural settings in the world. Those who admire what nature has to offer won’t believe their eyes at some of the things to be seen and experienced. There are numerous types of accommodation available and though many prices seem to be high, there are budget trips available as well. It’s best to get as close to the area as possible instead of paying resorts to get you to Taman Negara Malaysia. This will cut costs greatly. Make sure to bring along only useful items for your stay and avoid bringing very heavy bags and suitcases. Pack as lightly as possible and don’t forget your bug spray!
