Makati Hotels

Among the Makati hotels figure some of the best lodging establishments in the Philippines. Visitors to the Metro Manila area who want to enjoy luxury accommodations are encouraged to consider the Makati lodging scene, and the same goes for business travelers. Makati is the financial and commercial hub of the country, and the Makati hotels know how to cater to business travelers. They also know how to meet the needs of leisure travelers who are interested in comfortable rooms and elevated service. Not all of the hotels in Makati are 5-star hotels, so those who wish to spend less on accommodations when in town will have some good choices. Most of the upscale Makati lodging establishments can be found near the Ayala Center, so travelers might head there first if they are not sure where to stay.

There are a lot of good luxury hotels in Makati, and one of the best is the Makati Shangri-La (pictured), which is known for its amazing interior, its spacious and comfortable guest rooms, and its excellent restaurants, among other things. At the Makati Shangri-La, guests will know that they are in for a rewarding lodging experience the second that they step into the opulent lobby. After checking in, it's off to one of the posh guest rooms to get situated. Getting comfortable in the guest units at the Shangri-La isn't hard. All 699 rooms and suites are spacious, elegant, and full of amenities. Flat-screen televisions, satellite TV programming, premium bedding, large writing desks, safes, mini bars, direct dial telephones, complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers are just some of the standard in-room amenities that guests can expect to enjoy during a stay at the Makati Shangri-La. When guests aren't unwinding in their comfortable quarters, they can visit the hotel's fantastic health club, take advantage of the spa facilities, play some tennis, or relax by the outdoor pool. Internet access is included in the rates at the Shangri-La, which isn't the case at many of the other luxury hotels in the Philippines. It's just one more reason to move this hotel to the top of the Makati lodging list.

There are four upscale Makati hotels that are widely considered to be the best, and the Makati Shangri-La is one of them. So too is the Peninsula Manila, which secured its place among the top hotels in Makati years ago. While the Peninsula Manila is relatively old compared to some of the other Manila hotels of choice, it feels new. The interior gives the interior at the Shangri-La a run for its money, and guests can't help but linger in the luxurious lobby, which is home to one of the city's most popular cafes. As for the guest units, the décor is soothingly elegant, and the marble bathrooms sparkle. The guest units at the Peninsula Manila were recently renovated, and they offer a number of modern conveniences. Big, flat-screen televisions provide entertainment during down time, and guests can take advantage of the complimentary internet access. Sleek furnishings, luxury linens, and a host of other enticing amenities are standard in the Peninsula guest units. When guests aren't relaxing in their rooms, hanging out in the lobby café is always an option. While the dining options are rather complete at the Peninsula, the nearby Greenbelt Area features more restaurants to choose from, not to mention some attractive shops.

For travelers who are interested in staying in one of the very best Makati Hotels, two other upscale establishments that deserve a nod include the Mandarin Oriental and the Hotel Intercontinental. For those who wish to enjoy a lot of amenities at a price that is a little more affordable, there's also Fraser Place. Fraser Place certainly has an upscale air about it, and as it true of all the Philippines hotels, the rates are more than reasonable by western standards. All of the 146 inviting guest units at Fraser Place are essentially akin to apartments, and guests can opt for a studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom suite. These suites are divine, and all of them boast fully-equipped kitchens. They also feature full laundry facilities and complimentary bath products. The décor of the apartments is warm and tasteful, and the list of amenities long. It includes a DVD player, a flat-screen TV, a safe for valuables, and more. Fraser Place is an ideal hotel for families, as it not only offers spacious and complete accommodations. There is also a children's wading pool here and a playroom for kids. Barbecue facilities encourage family picnics, while the excellent concierge services can help families find fun things to do. All guests can enjoy the various facilities and services at Fraser Place, which are complete, and when they're not hanging out at the hotel, there is free shuttle service to all the city's top shopping spots.

While cheap Makati accommodations are relatively hard to come by, there are some discount lodging options in town. One of the best is Saint Illian's Inn, which offers a good selection of accommodations for guests to choose from. The guest rooms might not be the most luxurious in Makati, but they are very nice, especially when one considers the price. In addition to being clean and well-maintained, the guest rooms at Saint Illian's are also good on amenities. Air conditioning helps to keeps things comfortable, and other amenities that guests can expect to enjoy include air conditioning, an attractive en-suite bathroom, complimentary internet access, and telephone service. There is a café-restaurant onsite at Saint Illian's Inn, and guests can pay extra for massage and laundry services should they please. Saint Illian's Inn is easily one of the best budget hotels in Makati, though visitors to the city can secure even more affordable accommodations if they please. The Pensionne Virginia offers some of the best rates around and is worth keeping in mind.
