Bangkok Hotels

Bangkok, the city of decadent nightlife, beautiful and exotic temples, and abundant shopping, among its many and varied attractions, is one of the easiest places in Thailand to find a hotel. Finding a hotel in Bangkok is like finding a tuk-tuk—there is one on every street corner, but finding one that suits you may take a little more looking around. This huge and diverse city has everything from backpacker hostels (some that are little more than dives and others that are decent budget Bangkok hotels) to charming boutique accommodations, to luxury hotels such as The Oriental or The Peninsula Hotel, two of the best hotels in Bangkok.
Backpackers searching for Bangkok accommodation will most likely head to Khao San Road on Rattanakosin Island. Accessible by bus, ferry, and of course by taxi, Rattanakosin Island is the historic center of Bangkok and is where Bangkok's most well known sights, such as the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, can be seen. Khao San Road is chock-full of hostels and budget Bangkok hotels for those trying to travel cheap, and great deals are to be found (as well as great scams if you're not careful). Khao San Road is an interesting place to begin exploring Thai life, with shopping, budget dining, and entertainment options conveniently located nearby. Bangkok hotels in this area tend to spring up as well as close frequently, so always ask to see the room before agreeing to stay the night.

Another good place to find a range of options for a hotel in Bangkok is Sukhumvit Road, one of the longest roads in the world. This cosmopolitan street offers some of the best dining options in Bangkok, and it is lined with enough shopping malls and markets to satisfy the most die-hard shopping fiend. Bangkok accommodation to suit any budget is available on Sukhumvit Road, from budget guesthouses to mid-range hotels, as well as some of the best hotels in Bangkok, including the Westin Grande, Sheraton, and JW Marriott.
Those who do not have budget limitations for their Bangkok accommodation should consider staying in one of the best hotels in Bangkok, and indeed in the world: the Mandarin Oriental. Located on the bank of the Chao Phraya River, also called the River of Kings, the Mandarin Oriental (pictured) is rich in both history and luxury. With fine dining right on the waterfront, one of the best spas in the world, and luxuriously appointed rooms with a river view, the 130-year-old Mandarin Oriental is an ideal place to begin your Thailand vacation in style.
The Peninsula is another five-star luxury hotel in Bangkok and is also located on the River of Kings. Its W-shaped building design ensures a river view for every room, and with only ten rooms and two suites per floor, the Peninsula offers both spaciousness and comfort. The only problem you might encounter is that the comfort and relaxation of either of these luxury Bangkok hotels might just make it difficult to venture out into the rest of the city.
