Phuket Hotels

Phuket is Thailand's largest island and is a haven for all those looking to spend their vacation at a beautiful resort on a white-sand beach. With an international airport right on the island, Phuket hotels cater to a wide range of travelers, from luxury accommodation to budget hotels.

For the budget traveler, cheap hotels in Phuket are generally less easy to find than the large all-inclusive resorts, but they are nevertheless there to be found. Those who are looking for a hotel in Phuket and are on a tight budget may want to check out Phuket Town, which has cheap Phuket accommodation, including intimate guesthouses and basic rooms, available in the downtown area. The town also has some mid-range Phuket hotels catering mostly to business travelers.

Phuket is a large island with several beaches, and many travelers head straight to a Phuket beach resort upon arrival on the island. Patong Beach, on the west coast, is the central tourist and entertainment area, with numerous Phuket hotels for every budget, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, nightclubs, and water sports available in Patong Bay. The north and south ends of the beach are a little quieter and family-friendly, with many resorts and boutique hotels overlooking the beach. Although you will need to take a tuk-tuk or other transportation to get to the heart of the action on the central beachfront, these quieter areas are a good choice for a hotel in Phuket due to more peaceful and relaxing nights farther from the bustle of the nightlife. For those looking to take advantage of the vibrant downtown area, a Phuket beach resort right on central Patong Beach offers great entertainment and convenience, including opportunities for swimming and other water sports.

The second-largest beach on Phuket is Karon Beach, which is south of Patong Beach. Many choices for a Phuket beach resort are located on the road behind the beach, including the Hilton and the Ramada, but the beach itself is free of development and less crowded than Patong Beach, making it a popular choice for families and longer-stay vacationers. Of course, there are beach resorts aplenty, but there are also many budget to mid-range choices for a hotel in Phuket, including a Best Western. The northern end of Karon Beach is quieter, while the central area of the beach is home to many restaurants and bars. North of Karon is the private Karon Noi Beach, accessible only through Le Meridien Resort and Spa.

Kata Beach is the smallest of Phuket's popular tourist beaches, but its beautiful palm-fringed beach, crystal clear waters, and more laid-back, low-rise buildings make it popular among families. The south end of the beach has many Phuket hotels with direct beach access, while the middle of the beach is taken by Club Med's all-inclusive Phuket beach resort. Kata Noi Beach, south of Kata Beach, is popular for surfing, though it has little development other than a few hotels.

As one of Thailand's prime tourist destinations, you are sure to find a wide range of accommodation, great service, and beautiful beaches, no matter what your choice of a hotel in Phuket. The array of activities and beautiful scenery make this destination popular among travelers, and for good reason—it's simply unforgettable.
