Vung Tau Hotels

Vung Tau hotels are clustered in town on the little cape that just juts out into the sea as well as on the beaches that line the coast on the east towards Mui Ne Beach and Nha Trang. You have good choices of accommodation in Vung Tau and will have even more options probably as you are reading this. This is one of the most rapidly developing coastal areas in the country, and there are plans underway for more beach resorts, grand luxury hotels, and even a Disneyland-type theme park.
Perhaps the best beach lodging in Vung Tau is at the Lan Rung Wild Orchid, one of the few actual beach resorts here. By now, it has shaken out the service kinks of its maiden season after opening in the spring of 2008, and offers very spacious rooms and most other facilities and amenities you normally expect of a beach resort. It is located next to the ferry port where you can catch the express ferry to Ho Chi Minh City. This is one of the best hotels in Vung Tau if you arrive from Ho Chi Minh City by ferry and have no other form of transportation.
Most Vung Tau hotels will be able to assist you with tours in outlying areas (such as the Con Dau Islands), and you will find that just about everything in the town, from shopping and dining to the ferry port and city beaches, is within walking distance. The Paradise Golf Resort is located here, boasting an excellent 27-hole golf course with sea views and acres of beautiful parkland. Many hotels in Vung Tau place you nearby this area. The closest is the Long Hai Beach Resort, another of the deluxe beach resorts in town.
Some very good and unique Vung Tau hotels aren't even located on the mainland. About 110 miles off the coast are the Con Dao Islands, fourteen islands with twenty or so virtually deserted beaches and acres of pristine forest that all together comprise one of the few marine National Parks in the country (another will be found on Cat Ba Island in Halong Bay). You can get here by hydrofoil or helicopter from Vung Tau. Alternatively, you can book short-stay vacation packages and fly in a small aircraft from Ho Chi Minh City.
The only hotel of note, the Saigon Con Dao Resort, is located on the central island (Con Son Island). Here you can rent a motorbike and book tours to explore the island; one of the tours is of the prison that was used extensively during the French colonial period as well as during the American Vietnam War. There is also a diving school on the island. If you are staying in Vung Tau and just want a day trip, most of the hotels in Vung Tau can help you arrange the excursion.
Also on one of the islands offshore, but much closer to town, another accommodation in Vung Tau is the Ho Tram Beach Report and Spa. Villas and bungalows spill down to the beach on one side and a lake on the other. There is an excellent dining spot and a lakeside bar. This exclusive and deluxe accommodation in Vung Tau boasts a full-service spa.
