Perisher Blue

Perisher Blue is perhaps the most popular ski resort in all of Australia, due in large part to its immense size and breadth of amenities and services. The Perisher Blue Ski Resort is situated in the picturesque Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, offering some of the most breathtaking vistas across the seven mountain peaks that comprise the village. There are four distinct ski areas spread out over the seven peaks on an incredible 3,076 acres. There are plenty of Perisher Blue accommodations at the Perisher Valley Hotel, the Station, and a multitude of holiday rental homes and condominiums. The ski season starts in the middle of June and lasts through the beginning or middle of October. This is the case for most of the other ski resorts in Australia, including Mt. Buller, Falls Creek, and Thredbo. People of all ages and skill levels are sure to have an amazing time at this alluring resort.

The seven mountain peaks that comprise Perisher Blue are: Mt. Perisher, Mt. Back Perisher, Mt. Piper, Mt. Blue Cow, Rocky Knob, Guthega Peak, and Mt. Blue Calf. Mt. Perisher is the highest peak at 6,738 feet, and the lowest peak, Mt. Piper, still tops out over 6,000 feet. There are a whopping 47 lifts that carry tens of thousands of people an hour to the hundreds of named and unnamed runs spread out all over this amazing ski terrain. There are miles of groomed runs for Nordic skiing as well. The alpine runs are split up nicely to allow people of all skill levels to enjoy their time at the resort. They include 22 percent for beginners, 60 percent for intermediates, and 18 percent for advanced and expert skiers and snowboarders. Perisher’s Snowsports School is designed to teach people of all ages in a variety of different adaptive methods. You can rent or buy gear, learn on the spot, and be ready to shred the runs at the Perisher Blue Ski Resort before you know it.

The terrain parks are another big reason why snowboarders in particular love Perisher Blue. The fusion parks allow both skiers and snowboarder to get the most out of the amazing jumps, rails, and other features of the four terrain parks. The PSP Superpipe is a popular attraction as are the professional skiers who train at the Perisher Blue Ski Resort during the off-season. Kids will also enjoy tubing and endless fun at the Kidzone, which features all kinds of interactive games, rides, and fun.

Finding the right Perisher Blue accommodations should not be a problem at all. There are a wide variety of restaurants and bars, as well as shopping boutiques and cafes located in the immediate vicinity of the resort, so staying at the Perisher Valley Hotel or the Station will put you in the middle of all of the action. There are dedicated real estate representatives that are affiliated with the resort that can help you find the exact vacation rental you are looking for. You can also find ski vacation packages available for many of the affiliated resort properties that may help you realize significant savings on your trip. No matter where you choose to stay, any trip to Perisher Blue is bound to be an exciting and memorable one.
