The list of Australia surfing beaches include’s some of the world’s best. As such, it is little wonder that such surfing companies as Billabong, Quicksilver, and Rip Curl are based on the continent. It is also easy to understand why Australia has churned out so many surfing champions over the years, and when it comes down to it, there may be no better destination for surfing vacations.

Good Australia surfing beaches can be found along much of the country’s coast, though there are some destinations that tend to get more attention than others. Among these destinations is the city of Gold Coast. Found in southeastern Queensland, this city features miles of beaches, the likes of which fall under the collective Gold Coast reference. Some of these beaches are home to legendary breaks, and area visitors should find that it is easy to arrange surfing lessons. Surfing equipment rentals are also in good supply.

Other areas to focus on when it comes to the best Australia Surfing beaches are the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Victoria’s southern coast, and the Margaret River area in Western Australia. It can also be a good idea to keep the Sydney beaches in mind when looking for excellent places to surf on an Australia vacation. The waves are often good at the Sydney beaches of Bondi Beach and Manly Beach, and surf schools are found at both. Sydney’s northern beaches, the likes of which include such gems as North Narrabeen and Tamarama, are also not to be overlooked.
