Bondi Beach Hotels

The Bondi Beach hotels are popular among visitors to Sydney Australia, especially during the peak December to February summer beach season. As a result of their popularity during this season, the hotels in Bondi Beach can fill up fast when the temperatures are at their highest, so advance booking is recommended. The same goes for the local vacation rentals, which come in the form of condos and apartments.

Bondi Beach has long been one of the most popular beaches in Sydney. This has a lot to do with the fact that it is a city beach that is easy to reach for urban residents and visitors. The proximity to the city core in turn helps to make the Bondi Beach hotels popular, especially among beach enthusiasts who want to stay near the sand. None of the hotels in the Bondi Beach neighborhood are right on the beach, it should be noted, but there are a few that are just across the main strip called Campbell Parade. One such hotel is the landmark Hotel Bondi (pictured at top). A relatively basic hotel, the Hotel Bondi provides an especially good lodging option for the budget traveler who is interested in something more than a backpacker’s hostel. All of the rooms and suites have a coffee/tea maker, color TV, and an en suite bathroom.

Another landmark hotel that is very close to Bondi Beach is the more upscale Swiss Grand Resort & Spa. A better fit for the traveler who is looking to indulge in a little bit of luxury, this hotel on Campbell Parade offers nothing but suites, and they are all well-equipped. Standard amenity highlights include marble baths, mini bars, and in-room safes. It’s not all about the suites at this Sydney hotel, however. As the name would imply, the Swiss Grand offers a spa for guests who like to be pampered, and guests can dine at the onsite restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Complementing the restaurant is a lobby bar, and the hotel also features various function rooms for business meetings, weddings, and other private events.

A couple of other Bondi Beach hotels are also a very short distance from the sand. These hotels include the Bondi Beachside Inn. Even more basic than the Hotel Bondi, the Bondi Beachside Inn is another excellent choice for those who are interested in cheap hotels. It is located at 152 Campbell Parade.

The other hotel that is not to be overlooked by Sydney visitors who are interested in staying especially close to the sands of Bondi Beach is Ravesi’s Hotel. More officially known as Ravesi’s Hotel on Bondi Beach, this classy retreat is a boutique hotel, and since there are only twelve rooms to choose from, the atmosphere is quite intimate. Plasma TVs, DVD players, free Internet access, and mini bars are among the amenities in the guest units. Outside of the guest units, the facilities include a beachside bar, a wine and cocktail bar, and a restaurant. As is true of the Bondi Beach hotels in general, it only takes around twenty minutes to get to Ravesi’s from the CBD or the Sydney Airport.

When searching for Bondi Beach accommodations, travelers might look to focus on those properties that are more removed from the sand and water to save money. An example of such a hotel is the Beach Road Hotel. More of a motel than a hotel, this accommodation option is just five minutes from the beach, and it’s hard to beat the rates if you don’t want to share a room or bathroom with other guests. Standard in-room amenities include air conditioning, a mini fridge, and a tea/coffee maker.

Many travelers prefer rental properties to hotels as well. Generally speaking, your average rental is larger than your average hotel room, so families and other small groups can have extra room to spread out. Kitchen facilities are also common in rental properties, and they can be convenient and cost effective. The relative privacy that rental properties have to offer is just one more reason to keep them in mind. Meriton Serviced Apartments offers some of the most enticing rentals in the area, and while it is a bit removed from the beach, it’s just a short bus ride to the sand. The Meriton building is quite lofty, and some rooms provide excellent views of the Sydney Harbor, not to mention the Sydney fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

Ultimate Apartments is just one more apartment complex in the Bondi Beach area. Much like Meriton Serviced Apartments, this lodging establishment could be categorized as an apartment hotel, as there are hotel-like facilities to take advantage of. These facilities include a pool and sun deck. It’s just a seven-minute walk to Bondi Beach from Ultimate Apartments, and when guests aren’t enjoying the beach or the hotel’s facilities, they can indulge in the comfort of their apartment and the enticing amenities that each unit provides.
