Talofofo Falls is a waterfall located in the southern section of Guam. Talofofo Falls is located in Talofofo Falls Park, and is one of the major tourist attractions in Guam. The beautiful falls offer a cool reprise from the hot beach, and travelers love the freshwater Talofofo Falls and surrounding Talofofo Falls Park as a day trip destination from anywhere on the island. A whole host of activities are within easy reach from Talofofo Falls and Talofofo Falls Park.
One of the most exciting things to do at the falls happens right away. To get down to Talofofo Falls, guests will need to take a gondola ride. The gondola offers views of the forest as you travel above the trees and swoop down toward the falls. The falls themselves open into a gentle freshwater pool which is ideal for swimming, swinging from a rope and lying out in the sun. Travelers who plan to spend the day at the falls or the park should note that there is not much available in the way of food. A modest lunch counter is located at the museum, but many guests choose to pack a picnic.
In addition to a lunch counter, the small museum located near Talofofo Falls features artifacts, pictures and information about the island of Guam. In particular, information about the Chamorro people and the battles surrounding World War II and the Japanese occupation comprise most of the museum's material. A gift shop is also located at the museum, and the museum and park are open seven days a week from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tolofofo Falls and the park museum remain one of the main tourist attractions in Guam, and visitors should note that there is a moderate entrance fee requested to enter.
Another of the most popular tourist attractions in Guam are the golf courses located near Talofofo Falls. Many travelers who love to golf plan to visit both the falls and the main golf course to round out the day. If you are hoping to make such a plan, you will want to be sure and schedule a tee time in advance. Although walk-ons are available at times, you will do best to plan a time in advance. There are fees to play the course.
Talofofo Falls is about an hour's drive from the northern tip of Guam. All other villages will be an hour or less. Since transportation on the island is relegated mainly to road traffic, most travelers opt to rent a car. Although taxi cabs are available from Hagatna, Agat and Barrigada, they can be expensive and far less convenient for a day trip to the falls. On your way there, you can also stop at Yokoi's Cave, a natural site worth taking time to view. Whether you have time to visit Tolofofo Falls just once or multiple times during your stay on Guam, this beautiful site is one of the best places to visit in Guam.
