Coopers Beach

Coopers Beach is partly responsible for attracting beach enthusiasts to the northern reaches of New Zealand’s North Island. More specifically found on Doubtless Bay in the Northland region, this beach entices with its golden sands and its oft-red pohutukawa trees. It’s a wonderfully scenic place to relax, and there are plenty of accommodations near the water should you fancy staying overnight.

Coopers Beach sits on one of New Zealand’s most breathtaking bays. That’s not the only reason that it draws in so many visitors, however. The swimming is usually quite good at this attractive beach, and on sunny days, visitors who so desire can seek shady shelter under the pohutakawa trees that line much of the sand. Other activities that can be enjoyed on golden Coopers Beach include walking or jogging, and it is interesting to consider all the area tour options. Both Ninety Mile Beach and Cape Reinga are often featured destinations on the area tours, and it is possible to arrange guided hikes or horseback riding adventures.

New Zealand visitors who choose to spend some time in the Coopers Beach area can always look to go fishing. Some of the area fishing charters take to the waters of Doubtless Bay. The village of Mangonui is an example of a destination where fishing charter companies are based. You can find this village to the near east of Coopers Beach.

Doubtless Bay in general is a popular New Zealand vacation destination. It certainly makes for a fine Northland base, and this has a lot to do with the beaches, the overall activity options, and the accommodations choices. On the lodging front, hotels and motels mix with vacation rentals, thus providing a lot in the way of variety. Visitors should also know that Coopers Beach and the Doubtless Bay area in general are home to numerous shops and restaurants, so it isn’t difficult to find fun things to do when a break from the beach is in order.
