New Zealand Resorts

All of New Zealand’s major tourist destinations have ample hotels to offer, but for some, staying at one of the New Zealand resorts is the way to go.  Most New Zealand resorts offer comfortable and spacious rooms, while at the same time providing a list of fun activities to enjoy.  There are so many great places to vacation in New Zealand, so choosing the right resort for you will depend on the kind of trip you have in mind.  For fun in the sun, the New Zealand beach resorts are the way to go.  Skiers, climbers, and fresh-air lovers will take to the mountains to enjoy a New Zealand resort getaway.  Anglers will have a terrific time staying at one of the New Zealand resorts that offer fishing trips, and for those who like things plush, the New Zealand luxury resorts are sure to please.  There really isn’t a bad time to come to New Zealand, and with a list of great resorts to choose from year round, planning your resort getaway is easy as can be.

Many visitors to New Zealand seek out the beautiful city of Queenstown, if not for its mountain setting, then for its wealth of adventures.  Skiing, golfing, sightseeing, and so much more can be enjoyed in Queenstown, and you’ll find some very nice New Zealand resorts here.  Among the more renowned is the Millbrook Resort, which is located a bit closer to Arrowtown.  You’re just 20 minutes and a complimentary shuttle ride from all the dining, entertainment, and atmosphere of Queenstown, and the resort itself is a destination all its own.  Millbrook certainly deserves to be placed among the New Zealand luxury resorts, as you’ll enjoy the full experience here.  From the spectacular spa facilities, to the grand golf course, you’ll not want for more.  This place has it all, not to mention views to die for.  Another great South Island destination is Christchurch.  Just like Queenstown, this a nature and adventure-lover’s paradise.  In and around the Christchurch area, there are some great New Zealand resorts to consider.

There are a lot of good Christchurch hotels to pick from, including the Peppers Clearwater Resort.  This well-priced 5-star resort is set on trout-filled lakes, and they even have fly fishing guides.  Tennis and cycling are other activities you can enjoy at the Peppers Clearwater Resort, and there are some nice walking tracks on the grounds.  If you want to get downtown to enjoy the Christchurch museums and attractions, it’s just a 15-minute drive for those with rental cars.  Peppers also has a downtown-bound shuttle that makes a series of daily runs.  Less than an hour from Christchurch, the Terrace Downs High Country Resort is one of the more affordable New Zealand luxury resorts.  You’re close to Mount Hutt here if you want to go skiing, and the Terrace Downs has one of the country’s top golf courses.  Throw in the fact that the rooms are spacious, modern, and super comfortable, and you have a winning combination.  Most of the New Zealand resorts qualify as New Zealand luxury resorts, as they generally provide great rooms, and a high level of service and satisfaction.

You don’t have to pay an arm and a leg to stay at one of the New Zealand resorts to enjoy a remarkable experience, however.  Those who are looking for an excellent blend of nature and adventure in New Zealand might consider heading to Karamea.  Quite isolated, Karamea is found on the northern west coast of the South Island.  Here, the affordably-priced Last Resort offers a stay that can be packed with intriguing experiences.  Enjoy a guided tour at the Honeycomb Cave systems, or book a helicopter ride for some exceptional views.  Renting a mountain bike for a day is an excellent way to explore Karamea and the surrounding area.  On the far northern side of the North Island, the Auckland area is certainly a popular tourist destination.  Close to Auckland, you’ll find a winner among the New Zealand beach resorts.  The Puka Park Resort is also one of nicer New Zealand luxury resorts, offering private chalets that are worth every penny.  Guests can get here by way of plane or helicoper from both Auckland and Hamilton, and once you touch down at Pauanui Beach, it’s just a 3-minute, courtesy-car ride to your chalet.  North of Auckland, the Bay of Islands offers a wonderful collection of New Zealand beach resorts, such as the Eagles Nest.  Found in the town of Russell, the Eagles Nest is part luxury resort, part bed and breakfast, and part vacation rental, among other things.  If you had to use one word to sum this place up, it would have to be sublime.  Those considering staying at one of the New Zealand resorts should also look into the numerous New Zealand lodges.
