There are many different options to consider when looking into an Arizona Car Rental, depending on where you want your adventure to take you. If you plan on being in the southern part of the state, a convertible might be a better option than a 4x4, and visa versa for the northern half of the state, where there are elevation challenges and temperatures hover around freezing most of the year. There are numerous airports within the state, all of which have different variations of rental car pick up. For example, if flying into Tucson, you can choose between Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, and National, all of which have service desks and their vehicle fleet in the terminal.

If you are flying into Phoenix Sky Harbor, on the other hand, you’ll need to take a different course of action. A shuttle bus needs to be taken about a mile to the Arizona rent a car campus. The shuttle buses can be found on the lower level of the main terminal, just outside of the baggage claim area. Buses stop at the terminal quite frequently, and all buses stop at the same destination, so there is no need to worry about boarding the wrong bus.  All major car rental companies rent cars out of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, and reservations usually aren’t necessary. However, it should be noted that the months of March and April tend to be busier, due to the amount of visitors that attend Major League Baseball Spring Training, which takes place in various venues across Arizona.

In order to obtain an Arizona car rental, the primary driver must be present, and must also be the credit card holder on the rental reservation, as well as be able to give a deposit off of the same card, sometimes upward of $300. The amount of the deposit depends on length of the rental, as well as the type of vehicle that is chosen. Arizona rent a car laws are no different than any other state, though it should be noted that seatbelts are required for all front seat passengers, and child safety restraint seats are required for children under the age of 5 years.

Most Arizona car rental companies do not charge extra for miles traveled. This is quite beneficial due to all the attractions that should be seen by visitors to Arizona. From the to the Grand Canyon, down the beautiful Rio Grande river on the Mexico border, and all of the skiing, golfing, hiking and night life in between,  just how much of Arizona you can see is up to you.
