Nebraska is a large, sparsely populated state located in the Great Plains region of the US. Like most Midwestern states, destinations tend to be spread out and public transportation is limited, making a Nebraska rent a car a great way to get around. The state is known for flat farmland and ranches, but the Metropolitan areas of Omaha, Lincoln, and the cities in between the two, include many attractions, such as entertainment, fine dining, museums, and cultural events. Look for great deals on Nebraska car rentals and save time and money to enjoy popular area attractions like Sand Hills, and the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail, and Pine Ridge, a historic region of pine forests, rugged buttes and badlands formations. The two major airports in Nebraska are located in Omaha and Lincoln. If you fly into Eppley Airfield Airport (OMA), served by all major airlines, car rentals are provided in terminal by Enterprise, Thrifty, Dollar, Alamo, Budget, Avis, National and Hertz. Try Enterprise for the best deals, followed by Dollar and Alamo. If you arrive at Lincoln Airport (LNK), served by Northwest and United, car rentals are provided in terminal by Enterprise, Budget, Alamo, Hertz, Avis, and National. Try Enterprise for the lowest rates, followed by Budget and Alamo. Nebraska car rentals are available downtown areas throughout the state (usually for better rates than those at the airport) from most national chains. You must present a valid driver's license and credit card issued in your name at most Nebraska rental car agencies (although some will take a cash deposit depending on a credit check), along with proof of insurance if you decline the vendor's coverage options. Usually age requirements for a rent a car are 21 for compact and economy cars, 25 for all others, and an additional young driver charge may apply for anyone under 25 (select agencies will rent to qualifying individuals over 18 for an additional fee).
