San Jose Intl Airport (SJC) is located two miles northwest of Downtown San Jose in Santa Clara County, California, near the intersections of U.S. Route 101, Interstate 880, and State Route 87. Pick up a San Jose International Airport rent a car as soon as you arrive here and make this your ideal base for exploring the most populous city in the Bay Area. You'll have plenty of options to choose from as soon as you step off the plane. San Jose International Airport car rentals are offered by Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Fox, Hertz, National, and Thrifty. Try Enterprise, Thrifty, or Dollar for the lowest rates

SJC is the smallest of the three Bay Area airports, offering scheduled service to over 11 million passengers annually, with less than one third the passengers of the region's major international airport San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and fewer passengers than Oakland International Airport (OAK). Like the Oakland airport, it attracts Bay Area residents who find SFO to be inconveniently far from their homes. Virtually surrounded by the city, the airport has little room for expansion, insuring short lines and fewer delays. SJC is situated as a downtown airport, conveniently located for residents and visitors to hop into a San Jose International Airport rent a car and begin their plans immediately.

Each terminal has a clearly marked Rental Car Shuttle bus stop. Rental Car Shuttles provide regular transportation for customers to and from the terminals and the Rental Car Center. Upon arriving at most rental offices, you must present a valid driver's license and credit card issued in your name, along with proof of insurance if you decline the vendor's coverage options. Usually age requirements are 21 for compact and economy cars, 25 for all others, and an additional young driver charge may apply for anyone under 25. All San Jose International Airport car rentals must be kept within California state lines with exceptions for Reno, Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas, Nevada, after advance notification and approval from the rental company.
