Talladega is a city in Talladega County, Alabama, located approximately 50 miles east of Birmingham. A Talladega rent a car is a great way to get around or to enjoy the Talladega scenic drive that winds approximately 26 miles along the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains. Look for great deals on Talladega car rentals and save time and money to enjoy popular destinations like DeSoto Caverns, historic Talladega Courthouse Square or the attractions the area is best known for, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Talladega Superspeedway (the biggest, fastest, most competitive motorsports facility in the world). Even if you are not a race fan, Historic Talladega offers antiquing and tours of well-preserved early American homes, which attract many visitors each year to the Silk Stocking District and Old Talladega.
Talladega car rentals are available downtown (usually for better rates than those at the airport) from Enterprise, as well as a few smaller local companies. The closest airport is Talladega Municipal Airport which primarily serves general aviation, although most visitors arrive at nearby Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM). If you fly into Birmingham, car rentals are provided in terminal from Thrifty, Enterprise, Dollar, Alamo, Budget, National, Avis, and Hertz. Try Thrifty for the best prices, followed by Enterprise and Dollar.
You must present a valid driver's license and credit card issued in your name at most Talladega rental car agencies (although some will take a cash deposit depending on a credit check), along with proof of insurance if you decline the vendor's coverage options. Usually age requirements for a rent a car are 21 for compact and economy cars, 25 for all others, and an additional young driver charge may apply for anyone under 25 (select agencies will rent to qualifying individuals over 18 for an additional fee).
