Anguilla Resorts

Anguilla resorts take advantage of the spectacular beaches on this small Caribbean island. Beach resorts Anguilla are all you will find. If a resort is not located directly on a pristine stretch of sand, it will overlook one and have easy access to the turquoise waters. There are no resort properties to speak of in the interior because it is the coastline that attracts visitors and the interior of the island is no more than three miles wide—less than a mile wide for much of its length.

Luxury resorts on Anguilla are in the majority. In fact, there might be more of these per capita than on any other Caribbean island. They range from the opulent Ku Hotel on Shoal Bay Beach to the luxurious Cap Juluca Hotel on beautiful Maunday's Bay. The island’s deluxe beach resorts Anguilla are among the most exclusive in the world. There are no direct commercial flights from the United States to this little island, but the Cap Juluca offers private direct flights on a fourteen-passenger luxury Gulf Stream jet. The Cap Juluca also operates the only golf course on the island, an 18-hole championship course designed by golf legend Greg Norman.

The many luxury resorts on Anguilla draw the wealthy and famous year after year. On Shoal Bay West next to Maunday's Bay are the select Covecastles villas, one of which is owned by screen legend Denzel Washington. Take a walk on the beach here, and you could bump into Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie or Beyonce. The Covecastles property, designed by noted architect Myron Goldfinger from Canada, offers elegant designer villas that can only be described as palatial private mansions. If guests don’t show up with their own entourage of servants, the property will provide a resident chef and other service staff.

Other luxury resorts on Anguilla include the Malliouhana Resort on Meads Bay Beach that has appeared as Reader’s Choice award winner in the Conde Nast Traveler several times. It is set on more than 25 acres of lush tropical gardens on the main beach and has a stunning oceanfront full service spa. Even young guests are pampered with an extensive playground boasting its own beached pirate ship. Other luxury beach resorts Anguilla on Meads Bay are the Viceroy Hotel and the Carimar Beach Club.

Don’t despair if you’re on a budget. There are a number of Anguilla resorts and vacation rentals in a more affordable price range. The Arawak Beach Inn set on lovely Island Harbor Beach on the northwestern tip of the island offers long term stays for the laid off and unemployed that cost less per month than many apartment rentals in the United States. Those looking for good, affordable Anguilla resorts will be in luck if they pick the areas around Sandy Ground Beach (the island’s main harbor and port) and Shoal Bay Beach, the most famous and best snorkeling beach on the island.

There is no Anguilla all inclusive resort along the lines of Sandals or Club Med where you pay a certain price in order to have all meals and drinks included and complimentary access to all the facilities and amenities. Several properties will offer packages that include certain features and services, but you will pay for them. Since the vast majority of accommodations (from modest properties to luxury properties) have fully equipped kitchens, included dining options are not in high demand. The benefit of this is that those on a budget can save money by cooking many of their meals themselves.
