You need only to have been in the Bahamas for one day to obtain a marriage license. Both persons will need to present photo identification. In addition to your passport, it is usually a good idea to bring other forms of photo identification along, as well (such as a driver’s license). You will also need to produce evidence of your date of arrival in the Bahamas (such as a plane ticket stub). To obtain your license, both parties will need to go in person to the office of the Registrar General in Nassau. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm.
