Bahamas Nightlife

Nightlife

Nightlife in the Bahamas can be drastically different depending on where you are staying. In the tourist towns such as Nassau and Freeport, nightlife in the Bahamas is a vibrant and lively scene. Nightlife in the Bahamas on the Out Islands is either quiet or sometimes barely visible, although there are some great pubs and activities just about everywhere. Information about Bahamas nightlife is broken up into regions below.

New Providence

Many travelers are surprised to find that Cable Beach, not Nassau, tends to have the best Bahamas nightlife in New Providence. The main event for Bahamas nightlife on Cable Beach is the Wyndham Nassau Resort and Casino. An enormous casino gives way to an 800-seat theater which has shows running on the weekends and some week nights.

If you are looking for Nassau Bahamas nightlife, there are some great Nassau Bahamas nightlife clubs and Nassau Bahamas nightlife bars. Charlie’s on the Beach is one of the oldest and most well known bars in Nassau and a center for much of the Bahamas night club action that happens there. This is also a major hang out for spring break travelers.

Paradise Island

Bahamas night clubs on Paradise Island tend to begin and end at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort and Casino. The Atlantis Bahamas night clubs and casinos are considered by most to be the center of nightlife action in the Bahamas. The resort itself is so enormous that even if you don’t want to play the slots or see a show you can find a multitude of other bars throughout the hotel grounds.

Grand Bahama Island

In addition to all of the great golfing and diving found on Grand Bahama Island, the town of Freeport also features the best nightlife on the island. The Crowne Plaza Golf Resort and Casino is home to the Royal Oasis Casino, and anyone staying on Grand Bahama Island looking for a night out comes to the Royal Oasis Casino. Throughout the town of Freeport there are also some small bars frequented mostly by locals that are perfect for a quiet night out to sip a beer or talk with friends.

Out Islands

On the Out Islands, you won’t find casinos or dance clubs of any sort. You will find quiet local pubs and bars visited by the islanders themselves. Since you’ve likely planned a vacation to the Out Islands to enjoy the peace and quiet, this shouldn’t be a problem. Locals are friendly and the food is excellent.

Whether you have a chance to take part in the glitz and glamour of the large casinos and dance haunts, or simply want to sample a good local mixed drink, there are plenty of options in the Bahamas, depending on your final destination.
