Bahamas Tours

Tours

Tours of the Bahamas are available for a myriad of different vacation options.  Wildlife tours of the Bahamas, as well as cruise tours of the Bahamas islands and historical or walking tours can all be booked for your vacation.  Snorkeling, scuba diving, undersea walking, and fishing Bahamas tours are also popular choices.  Due to the high number of people booking Bahamas tours, you will want to try and book your Bahamas tour as far in advance as you are able in order to avoid the disappointment of missing your desired attraction.

A great tour for anyone traveling to the Bahamas is a walking tour of Nassau on Paradise Island to check out all of the great historical sights.  You can conduct your own walking tour of the city by picking up a map at the visitor’s center and planning your own adventure.  For $10, you may also sign up for one of the hour-long tours conducted by the Ministry of Tourism of Nassau, which run between 10am and 2pm daily from Rawson Square in Nassau.  You’ll be taken by the Queens Staircase, the Straw Market, and other historical sights in the area.

For another active tour, you can also book one of the popular Bahamas Out Island tours.  Bahamas Out Island tours can last for one, two, or three days, and include everything from camping to kayaking and snorkeling.  A typical schedule for Bahamas Out Island tours will include an early morning pickup from the dock of your choice, followed by a trip to tide pools for marine life viewing.  A trip to the beach for kayaking, beachcombing, and exploring is next, followed by lunch which will be provided.  More activities and a sunset dinner and grill will be provided, followed by stargazing and roomy tent sleeping for those who choose to book a two or three day trip.  Trips leave from both Harbor Island and Paradise Island, and children will only be half price.

Wildlife tours are yet another well-liked way to see the Bahamas.  You can book a wildlife tour as part of a Bahamas vacation package or on its own through a number of different companies.  Pick up for your wildlife tour can usually be arranged right from your hotel, and lunch is provided for full day tours, though you may also book half day tours.  A wildlife tour will generally include trips to tide pools, bird sanctuaries, and other places where animals can be observed in their natural habitats.

Boat rentals are another great way to tour the Bahamas, and you can even plan your own itinerary by chartering your own yacht or sailboat.  Trips out from the islands on a private boat can be used for fishing, scuba diving, or sight seeing excursions.  Whichever sort of tour you plan to book, you will want to be sure and book well in advance.  Many of the tours mentioned above can be booked online, or even through your travel agent as part of a Bahamas vacation package.  Booking a tour with a Bahamas vacation package can also be a great way to take advantage of discounted prices by combining your airfare, hotel, and tour costs.
