Curacao resorts are available in all sizes and categories to suit all budgets and interests. Virtually all of them are beach resorts set on popular public beaches or with their own private beach, as there are few resort quality properties elsewhere. One of the only Curacao luxury resorts without a beach is the beautiful Kura Hulanda Hotel, located in the Otrobanda District of the capital city of Willemstad. But even this property is on the waterfront, and is within walking distance of a good beach.
The Kura Hulanda Hotel is a "village" style complex covering several city blocks and is where the Kura Hulanda Museum is located. It boasts both a full-service spa and one of the island's casinos. It is the sister property of the exclusive Kura Hulanda Lodge, one of the best dive resorts in Curacao as well as one of the most remote. It is set in the Westpunt (West Point) area on the northern tip of the island along popular Playa Kalki Beach, one of the best places for scuba diving and snorkeling on the entire island.
Other notable dive resorts in Curacao are the Habitat Resort, located north of Willemstad near Playa Porto Mari, and the Lions Dive on Sea Aquarium Beach. The Lions Dive property offers standard hotel type rooms and suites as well as two-bedroom apartments, vacation rentals that make it excellent for small groups and family vacations. Since virtually all beach properties partner with a PADI certified dive operator, you do not necessarily need to look for dive resorts in Curacao to find a good scuba outfitter.
The only true all inclusive resort Curacao (in the tradition of places such as the Club Med and Sandals resorts) is Breezes Curacao. The Breezes property is located on the western outskirts of Willemstad, at the northern tip of popular Sea Aquarium Beach, center of the island's nightlife. This all inclusive resort Curacao has a long private sandy beach almost completely protected by a reef making the snorkeling here excellent. Almost all of the spacious rooms and suites have sea views, and other facilities include a number of dining options, swimming pools, a full-service spa, and extensive supervised children's activities. All meals, drinks, and activities are included in the room price, including one scuba dive per day.
Other Curacao resorts offer packages you can purchase for a variety of prices that include certain features, usually meals and some drinks and non-motorized water sports. The Marriott Resort is one of these, and although it does not call itself an all inclusive resort Curacao, this means you can enjoy many of its amenities without paying extra for them.
Probably the best of the luxury Curacao resorts is the Hyatt Regency Resort on the southern tip of the island near Spanish Waters on beautiful Barbara Beach. This is an extensive luxury resort property set on 27 acres and part of the 4,000 acre Santa Barbara Plantation. From tennis courts to a full-service spa, there are no facilities lacking. There is even a marina with able to accommodate 128 boats up to 150 feet in length. Apartments called Marina Village overlook this facility. Private homes and villas are spread throughout the plantation, and the rugged surrounding area is excellent for hiking horseback riding, and mountain biking. If you stay here, you will have the shortest possible day excursion cruises to Klein Curacao, the tiny uninhabited island off the southern tip of the main island.
