Carabela Beach Resort and Casino

The 4-star Carabela Beach Resort and Casino is one of the smaller all inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, and since its bars all close by midnight, it’s a bit more subdued than some of its competitors. As such, families and couples will do well to book a stay here. One of the perks of the Carabela Resort Punta Cana is its location. When looking at a map of Punta Cana, just look for the village of El Cortecito. This village, which is the closest thing to a beach town in Punta Cana, can be directly accessed from the Carabela Beach Resort and Casino. Once in town, you can do some shopping, check out an art gallery, or dine at one of the village’s restaurants. Of course, since all of your meals are already included in the all inclusive rates at the Punta Cana Carabela Resort, you won’t have to depend on outside restaurants.
It’s a short walk to the stunning El Cortecito Beach from any room at the Carabela Beach Resort and Casino, and lounge chairs and umbrellas are available for guests. You’ll also find adequate seating around the resort’s 3 free-form pools, but as is true at most of the resorts, your best chance to get a lounge chair is by claiming one early in the day. The sand is soft on the beach, and the turquoise water is inviting. Many visitors to this part of the Dominican Republic are amazed at how beautiful the Punta Cana beaches are, so you’re bound to spend at least some of your time on the sand. When you’re not lounging around on the beach, there are a list of activities to choose from at the Punta Cana Carabela Resort. Your all inclusive rates will cover non-motorized watersports such as snorkeling, kayaking, and even sailing, and as is typical at most Punta Cana resorts, a complimentary scuba diving lesson is offered at no extra charge. For those who want to book scuba diving excursions, fishing trips, or banana boat rides, there are extra charges that do apply. The resort’s activity team keeps things interesting by offering a daily regimen of games and fun sports activities, and among the resort facilities are three tennis courts that you are free to use.
As mentioned, the Carabela Resort Punta Cana is one of the smaller all inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. While some resorts like the Melia Caribe Tropical have a dozen restaurants to choose from, this one offers just four. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t plenty of variety when it comes to dining at the Punta Cana Carabela Resort. In addition to the three restaurants that specialize in international dishes, Italian food, and Mexican cuisine, there is a buffet restaurant which serves up breakfast, lunch, and theme dinners. There is also a snack bar at the beach where you can grab a quick bite and something to drink. You will also find one of the resort’s five bars at the beach, as well as two others at the main pool. The theater, where nightly shows take place, also boasts a bar, and the remaining one is in the hotel lobby. Other facilities at the resort include a casino, a fitness center, a medical office, a salon, a money exchange desk, a massage parlor, and a supermarket.
There are 450 rooms and 24 junior suites that are available to guests at the Carabela Resort Punta Cana, and all feature satellite TV, a mini-fridge, a private balcony or terrace, and the all important air-conditioning. The bathrooms have hair dryers so you won’t need to bring one, and for a small fee, you can ask for a safety deposit box. Unfortunately, the mini-fridges aren’t stocked, and you’ll have to buy your own drinks if you want to fill it up. The decor of the bright and cheery rooms is by no means fancy, but most visitors find the amenities to be plentiful enough and the prices just right. Since there are so many fun things to do in Punta Cana, you won’t likely spend a ton of time in your room, so if an overabundance of elegance isn’t what you’re after, the Carabela rooms are perfect.
