Occidental Grand Punta Cana

Anyone looking for a fairly low-key all inclusive resort on the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic will do well to book a stay at the Occidental Grand Punta Cana Resort. When consulting a map of the Punta Cana hotels, you’ll find the Occidental Grand in the Bavaro area, which means that you’ll enjoy proximity to shops, golf courses, and some great local restaurants. It’s only a 20-minute drive from the Punta Cana airport to the Occidental Grand Punta Cana Resort, which is convenient whether you are coming or going. Chances are good that you won’t be in a rush to leave, however, as the Occidental Grand all inclusive resort in Punta Cana goes the distance to make sure that its guests have a great vacation. A wide variety of activities are covered in the all inclusive rates here, and the diverse dining choices mean that you won’t tire of what’s on the menu, even if you stay for a few weeks.

Rated 4-stars, the Occidental Grand Punta Cana offers enough in the way of luxury to satisfy most. Its extensive grounds are well-manicured, and the staff is both friendly and helpful. This resort is quite large, boasting 865 rooms and many facilities. More palm trees than you will probably care to count dot the lovely 700-yard-long beach at the Occidental Grand Punta Cana Resort, and the hotel grounds are not without their fair share of swaying palms either. When you’re not hanging out at the beach, enjoying one of the resort’s three swimming pools is always up for consideration. These free-form pools are like small lagoons. One of the pools caters exclusively to kids, while another is reserved for adults and has a swim-up bar. Soaking up some sun on the beach or by one of the pools at the Occidental Grand Punta Cana Resort is a fine way to spend some time, but when you feel like something more action-packed, there are a list of activities that are included in the all inclusive rates.
Kayaking, snorkeling, and sailing are just some of the options when it comes to activities that won’t cost you extra at the Occidental Grand Resort. Aerobics, tennis, and even Meringue dance lessons are also among the included activities. You can also take a scuba diving clinic or shoot some hoops on the basketball court. A 30-minute horseback riding excursion is just one more thing that is covered in your up-front fee at the Occidental Grand all inclusive resort in Punta Cana. The same goes for your meals, your drinks, and your accommodations. For an additional fee, guests at the Occidental Grand Punta Cana can schedule an appointment at the hotel’s spa, arrange a golf outing at a nearby course, or book a deep-sea fishing trip, among other possibilities. Not that you are likely to get bored with the activities that are included in the all inclusive plan, but it’s nice to know that there are also a bevy of options when comes to things to do in Punta Cana.
Like most of the other top resorts in Punta Cana, the Occidental Grand provides its guests with continued entertainment as day gives way to night. There are no less than nine restaurants and seven bars to choose from at the Occidental Grand, so whether you’re up for dinner or for a few drinks, you won’t have to stray far from your room. Some of the restaurants here are more casual than others, and virtually every major world cuisine is covered by the different menus. Finding the right bar to suit your tastes is as easy as finding the right restaurant at the Occidental Grand all inclusive resort in Punta Cana. One of the bars features a DJ and a dance floor and is open until 1 a.m., while the other bars close before or at midnight. Some of the other resorts in Punta Cana have bars and clubs that stay open until the wee hours of the morning, but as alluded to in the opening paragraph, things are a bit more low-key around here. Couples and families are especially encouraged to consider a stay at the Occidental Grand Punta Cana because of the more relaxed environment.
The rooms at the Occidental Grand Punta Cana Resort certainly help to encourage a relaxing stay, as they provide ample amenities to suit most people’s tastes and preferences. Housed in a collection of seventeen Spanish-style buildings that are all three stories tall, the rooms here exhibit a fresh Caribbean decor that is accented with tiled floors. Not only are these floors attractive, but they also help to keep the room cool. A private terrace or balcony is standard in each of the deluxe rooms here, as are ceiling fans, air conditioning, satellite cable TV, a mini-bar, a telephone, and an in-room safe. You’ll also find an iron and ironing board in each room, and extra beds and/or cribs are available on request. Additional extras like a bottle of champagne and a couples massage are included in the plan if you spend extra on the Grand Romance package, while concierge service and a bottle of wine are among the extras that are part of the Grand Concierge package.
