Ocean Blue Punta Cana

The Ocean Blue Punta Cana, or Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort as it is also known, enjoys quite a privileged location, as it fronts the Atlantic Ocean to the east and borders the White Sands Golf Course to its west. Like most of the all inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, the Ocean Blue Resort offers access to an idyllic beach, where the white sand is soft and the turquoise waters warm. Guests at the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort will not only be able to enjoy the Ocean Blue facilities during their stay, but also those of the equally as attractive Ocean Sands Golf and Beach Resort. These sister properties together offer more than 700 rooms to choose from, not to mention a blend of restaurants, a casino, and multiple swimming pools. As if you couldn’t already keep busy enough on the grounds of these resorts, the staff will be happy to help you arrange fun Punta Cana tours and on the side.

There are some fancier resorts in Punta Cana where you can pay more to basically enjoy the same experience that you will at the Ocean Blue Punta Cana, so suffice it to say that your money goes quite a long way here. The money that you save on rates means more Punta Cana shopping if you are up for it, or you can apply it towards a fun tour or perhaps even a few treatments at one of the many Punta Cana spas. Though the Ocean Blue Resort isn’t one of the leading Punta Cana luxury hotels, the rooms themselves are luxurious enough by most people’s standards. Rather spacious, they are more akin to suites, deserving of a 5-star ranking according to who you consult. The marble-accented bathrooms do well to add an alluring touch, and you’ll most likely fall in love with your private Jacuzzi tub. Sipping on a beverage while you take in the resort and ocean views from your balcony is a pleasant way to pass the time, and each room offers cable TV should you feel like relaxing that way. Other amenities that you can expect in each room, or suite have you, are a mini-fridge, a small safe, the all-important air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a telephone, and separate living and sleeping areas. Basics like a coffee maker, a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board are also standard in each unit.

As is true of the well-appointed suites at the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort, the overall grounds are both clean and well-manicured. These grounds are expansive, so a lot of walking can be part of the picture. For those who prefer to save their energy for a round of golf or for a tour perhaps, various shuttles make their way around the grounds, and they won’t cost you a penny to ride. Heading for one of the 2 pools on the grounds or for the beach is often the aim of guests at the Ocean Blue Resort, and for adults, there’s a fun swim-up bar at one of the pools. It’s often a lively bar and a good place to socialize. When you’re not at the beach or enjoying one of the pools, there are a bunch of activities that your all inclusive rates will allow you to take advantage of as well. First off, there are kids and teens clubs that offer all kinds of neat activities and games for the younger ones in your group, which is a perk for families. Snorkeling on the beach is a popular pursuit, and you won’t have to pay extra for equipment, nor will you have to pay extra to do some windsurfing or some kayaking. Other activities that are included in your up-front fee are various beach games, archery, bicycling, aerobics, and tennis, among others.

While most of the activities that you will be interested in at the Ocean Blue Punta Cana are included in the all inclusive packages, there are others that will cost extra to enjoy. Fishing trips and scuba diving excursions are among the activities that require a supplemental fee, and you’ll also have to pay for treatments at the resort’s impressive spa. Horseback riding and sailing on a catamaran can also figure on the agenda if you are interested and have the additional funds. It’s nice to enjoy at least one excursion that gets you off of the hotel grounds, as Punta Cana presents visitors with quite a bit to get into. Visiting the new Palma Real Shopping Center is always up for consideration, for example. Of course, you’ll need to break once in a while to eat and drink during your fun-filled vacation, and that’s another area where the Ocean Blue Resort shines.

All of your meals and snacks are covered in the all inclusive rates, as are your beverages, so you won’t have to worry about where or what you are going to eat. While casual buffet dining is an option, the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort also boasts 7 a la carte restaurants where you can order off a menu. These restaurants, only 2 of which require an additional fee, specialize in different cuisines, so most everyone in your group should be satisfied. Premium drinks are offered at no extra charge in all of the Ocean Blue and Ocean Sands bars, of which there are ten, so finding a drink won’t be difficult either. Other facilities at the Ocean Blue Punta Cana include a small casino, some shops, an internet center, and a medical office. Nightly entertainment is supplied by the staff, and overall, the service is excellent. There seems little reason to leave the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort out of the picture when deciding where to stay in the Dominican Republic’s hottest vacation destination.
