Punta Cana Dining

Many visitors to Punta Cana will wonder what awaits them when it comes to dining choices. Well, you’ll be glad to know that the Punta Cana restaurants are only growing in number, so the choices just keep getting better every day. Most tourists who visit Punta Cana stay at one of the all inclusive resorts, where the dining choices are simply extensive. The resort buffets alone offer more choices than you’ll likely know what to do with. Because Punta Cana is a tourist destination above all else, most of the independent restaurants here offer well-known menu items to attract foreign tastes, though often times there are some Dominican Republic food choices on the menu. When it comes to the resorts, there are multiple restaurants that all specialize in something different. In other words, you can pretty much get what you want when you want it. Book an all inclusive stay, and you’ll be able to sample a large variety of cuisines during your vacation.
Most visitors to the all inclusive resorts in Punta Cana rate the food as being excellent, which is good, because if you’re a resort guest, you’ll probably eat most, if not all, of your meals at the resort itself. There are some Punta Cana restaurants outside of the resorts, but they are fairly limited in number. Most of the best ones are found in the Bavaro area and the village of El Cortecito. These local Punta Cana restaurants range from pizzerias and cafes, to creole and seafood establishments. Should you opt to stay in a Punta Cana vacation rental instead of a Punta Cana resort, you will likely depend more on the non-resort restaurants than resort guests will. Of course, you can always eat your meals as a paying guest at the a la carte resort restaurants even if you aren’t a guest.
When doing the bulk of your Punta Cana dining in the resorts, you can eat at a buffet restaurant, as mentioned, or opt instead for an a la carte experience, which entails ordering from a menu. The buffet restaurants in Punta Cana are more casual affairs, and you can usually patronize them without having to throw a pair of slacks or a nice dress on. The a la carte restaurants, however, often require reservations and more formal attire, at least for dinner. The amount of restaurants at each resort varies, so you can choose your resort accordingly. At the Club Med Punta Cana, for instance, there are only two buffet restaurants, while at the Edenh Real Arena you’ll find buffet restaurants and four a la carte ones as well. At the Grand Palladium Punta Cana, there are no less than eleven restaurants spread about the complex, five of which are a la carte, and six of which are buffets. Suffice it to say that you will have no problem finding good food in Punta Cana when you stay at one of the all inclusive resorts.
At the a la carte restaurants in Punta Cana, the menus mostly center around American food favorites, Italian cuisine, French cuisine, Mediterranean fare, and Asian dishes. It’s also common for there to be both a steakhouse and a seafood restaurant on the resort premises, as well as an overall gourmet restaurant. As such, the resorts ensure that all guests will be happy when it comes to Punta Cana dining. If you are too tired to leave your room, the bulk of the resorts offer some sort of room service. The luxury Punta Cana hotels keep their room service going 24 hours a day. Room service aside, you are bound to develop one or more favorites when it comes to the restaurants in Punta Cana, and because the food choices at the different restaurants are so varied, even the pickiest of eaters should have nothing to complain about. Punta Cana dining is just one of the many pleasures to be savored when you visit the hottest vacation destination in the Dominican Republic. In addition to great restaurants, there are also fantastic beaches here, great scuba diving spots, and so much more.
