Dominican Republic travel is best any time of the year, however, the majority of guests visit this Caribbean island from December until April. The main reason is the want to escape cold and desire the warm tropical breeze of the Caribbean while they lounge around on the white sandy beaches.


The best time to visit the Dominican Republic has quite a bit to do with the activities you wish to enjoy. The Dominican Republic has close to the same temperature year round, on average the temperature in the Dominican Republic stays around 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Traveling to the Dominican Republic during the summer months will have you there from May to October, which are the warmest months of the year. Temperatures can reach as high as 87 degrees Fahrenheit with lows around 72 for the evening. Humidity does play a factor, which makes it feel hotter than it really is, therefore rigorous outdoor activities may not be perfect for everyone. Dominican Republic travel during the summer months can be quite hot for those that are not use the heat and the humidity. One thing to remember, not all taxis and public transportation has air-conditioning.


Rain is another factor you have to consider when traveling to the Dominican Republic. May is the rainiest month but only for a short period of time during the day and then the sun shines brightly once again. These small rain showers do not hinder most guests as they quickly leave and the Caribbean sun comes out quickly once again.


The best time to visit the Dominican Republic for many is during the low season if you wish to find good deals on airfare and accommodations. The low season for traveling to the Dominican Republic is the summer months. The busy time when it may be hard to find flights is during December until April.


The prices during the high season are often quite a bit different from want you will see for the summer months, due to the high volume of visitors. In fact, you may have to make reservations at least one month in advance to even find accommodations. If you are looking for good prices then you will want to travel to the Dominican Republic during the summer months from May to October. Of course, during the high season, you will not have, as much rain and the humidity will be lower.
