The Grenada beaches are about as idyllic as beaches get, which is why this Caribbean island deserves consideration among the world's top beach destinations. There are no less than 45 beaches on the island of Grenada, so you shouldn't have a hard time finding one that suits your needs. Many visitors understandably head to Grand Anse Beach when looking to enjoy some fun in the sun on a Grenada vacation, as it is often mentioned among the best beaches on the planet. This white sand beach is two miles long, and it fronts a sheltered bay. The relatively calm waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling, and you can also go parasailing, water skiing, or scuba diving.

If you want to find a really good beach in Grenada, the southwestern part of the island is the best place to start your search. In addition to being home to Grand Anse Beach, this part of the island is also home to some of the country's other premier strips of sand. The beach at Morne Rouge Bay is one of the gems on the southwestern coast, as it too boasts sugary white sand and calm waters. While Morne Rouge Bay Beach isn't as popular as nearby Grand Anse, it is arguably just as inviting. Heading towards the airport in Point Salinas, those hunting for quality Grenada beaches will find Pink Gin Beach. The white sand beckons here as well, and the clear waters invite swimmers and snorkelers to dive right in. Kayak rentals are available at Pink Gin Beach, and you can break for a meal at the beach restaurant when you need an activities break. As for some of the other more notable Grenada Beaches, they include La Sagesse Beach, Levera Beach, and Pearl's Beach.

La Sagesse Beach boasts lovely gray-black sand, thanks to the island's volcanic history, so you might add it to your Grenada beach vacation itinerary if you are interested in variety. You'll find a restaurant at La Sagesse Beach, and walking trails that wind through the surrounding countryside are easy to access should you be up for a side adventure. There's also a nature center here that you can visit. As for Levera Beach, it is part of a national park that can be found on the northeastern side of the island. According to many, this beach in Grenada is one of the most beautiful. Like Pearl's Beach, Levera Beach features relatively rough waters, in which case it isn't the best bet for kids. You're better off sticking to Grande Anse Beach if you're planning a Grenada family vacation. Many of the best Grenada hotels and resorts can be found on Grand Anse Beach, which helps to make it an ideal family beach.

One of the best things about a Grenada beach vacation is the fact that you won't be limited to beach activities. As is true in many Caribbean destinations, golfing and hiking figure among the pursuits on the island. As such, you might bring your clubs and your hiking boots. While Grenada isn't as well known for boating and yachting as the British Virgin Islands or St Vincent and the Grenadines, these water-related activities are also very rewarding. It's understandable if you want to spend the bulk of your time lounging on the beach in Grenada, though there is more than enough to keep you busy when it comes time for diversion.

In addition to visiting the Grenada beaches that can be found on the main island of Grenada, you can also entertain the option of heading to one of the sister islands to get your fill of beach time. Carriacou and Petite Martinique offer an even more leisurely pace of life than Grenada does, which is saying a lot, and the beaches that they boast could easily grace the front of a postcard. Reefs help to protect the divine beaches on these smaller islands, which means that they too are perfect for snorkeling and swimming.
