Magazine Beach

Magazine Beach is one of the longest stretches of beach on the southwestern coast of the main island that begins further north with Grand Anse Beach just south of the capital city of St George's. It is set between secluded Morne Rouge Beach and Pink Gin Beach and is less than a mile north of the international airport. It has about one mile of pure white sand, and calm clear waters because of its location on the leeward side of the island.
It is sometimes called Rex Beach, and one of the hotels near Magazine Beach is the beautiful Rex Granadian, one of the larger resorts on the island with 84 rooms. This is one of the area’s all inclusive properties. Another of the resorts here, the elegant Moca Bana, is home to one of the most popular seafood dining spots on the island.
Magazine Beach is very popular with both honeymooners and families alike, and it is an excellent snorkeling beach. Many of the hotels near Magazine Beach can cater to weddings and other special events. Most will have snorkeling and beach equipment available for guests, and can arrange for everything from scuba diving trips to organized children’s activities for those on family vacations. Most of the hotels will also arrange airport transfers so you can get from the airport to your final destination quickly and easily. Otherwise, you will need car rentals or taxis to access the beach, as there is no public transportation.
