Guadeloupe Luxury Hotels

Guadeloupe luxury hotels are available for travelers seeking the best upscale places to stay, though it is difficult to find a true 5 star hotel in Guadeloupe. While there are many excellent mid-range options with quality amenities, truly decadent luxury is a rare treat in Guadeloupe. If you are looking for a luxury Guadeloupe beach hotel, you can quickly narrow down your options to a few excellent Guadeloupe hotels.

La Cocoteraie is one of the preeminent Guadeloupe luxury hotels, located in the resort town of St Francois. While it is not quite a 5 star hotel in Guadeloupe, it comes pretty close with its rating of 4 or 4.5 stars. Formerly part of the Le Meridien group of hotels, La Cocoteraie is now independent. There are breathtaking views of the turquoise lagoon from your room, as well as a beautiful infinity pool perfect for plunging in after a salty swim at the beach, or simply lounging. Rooms at this luxury Guadeloupe beach hotel are furnished in a clean, rustic island style that evokes peacefulness and calm, with unique hexagonal bathtubs in the beautifully furnished bathrooms. A private beach means that you can get your fill of the white sands and clear waters in relative seclusion, and you can sip cocktails on the terrace by the pool or beach. A French-style buffet breakfast lets you start your day right, and the hotel restaurant offers excellent seafood. From here, you can take a boat to some of Guadeloupe's smaller islands, or arrange excursions to hike into the forests.

The Sofitel Auberge de la Vieille Tour (pictured) in Gosier is the second of the well-known Guadeloupe luxury hotels, and some would argue, closer than La Cocoteraie to a 5 star hotel in Guadeloupe. Situated close to Pointe a Pitre as well as to the beaches of Gosier, it is in an ideal central location. The Vieille Tour has all of the luxuries you would expect of the Sofitel chain, with plush beds and luxurious details, typical of French décor. The hotel restaurant may seem expensive at first glance, but the two or three course meals are excellent, and you may wish to take advantage of this opportunity to dine on quality French food with a Creole twist. There is a large and spacious pool, with room to lounge around it, although the private beach area is quite small. That's no great loss, however, as there are many large and beautiful beaches close by.

If you don't mind a more touristy experience, you may want to consider the 4-star Club Med located in St Anne. This luxury Guadeloupe beach hotel is expensive, but you may be able to find some all-inclusive packages that make it more worthwhile. If you stay at Club Med, be aware that it will likely be crowded with other tourists, and that the beach nearby is a public one, and therefore may also be crowded with tourists and locals alike. Nevertheless, Club Med offers many activities for kids as well as adults to entertain you at every turn, and that may sway you in this hotel's favor. Like other resorts in this chain, rooms are comfortable and the all-you-can-eat food and drinks are of good quality.

Staying at a luxury hotel in Guadeloupe can make your Caribbean holiday a truly relaxing one, and at the end of your vacation you will feel pampered, well-rested, and most likely, reluctant to leave.
