Ocho Rios Jamaica Beaches

Ocho Rios Jamaica beaches are nestled on the north shores of Jamaica, and they’re part of the reason that Ocho Rios from a sleepy fishing town into a vacation paradise. As you’d expect for Jamaica beaches, these beaches are a delightful mix of swaying palm trees, warm turquoise waters, and plenty of soft sand. Some beaches are quiet and secluded, while others offer access to watersports and other adventures.
Mahogany Beach
Quiet and off the beaten path, Mahogany Beach is still easy to find. It’s located near the east side of Ocho Rios, just off the main street. You don’t need to worry about an admission fee or large crowds at Mahogany Beach. Swimmers especially enjoy this beach with calm, warm waters. After you’ve gone for a dip or a stroll on the sand, you can visit one of the local dining establishments located right on the beach.
Reggae Beach
Close to the cruise ship terminal, yet a world away, Reggae Beach is a quiet stretch of white sand, a perfect example of Ocho Rios Jamaica beaches. The beach is well shaded, thanks to the line of towering palm and almond trees. The list of things to do isn’t long, but you will have the chance to enjoy swimming and lounging on the sun. The beach is also home to a bar with excellent beach views, along with a restaurant serving jerk chicken and the fresh catch of the day.
Mallards Beach
One of the busiest Ocho Rios beaches, Mallards Beach is right in the center of the action, close to some of the best resorts in Jamaica. The powdery soft sand often sets the stage for parties where visitors and locals mingle to the sounds of reggae music. Of all the Ocho Rios Jamaica beaches, this one is probably the best in terms of visitor amenities. Lifeguards are on duty, and it’s find watersports outfitters, restaurants, and bars along Mallards Beach.

The fictional spy shares a deep connection to the northern coast of Jamaica. His creator, Ian Fleming wrote many of his novels while staying on the island. The beach on the eastern end of Ocho Rios is a great place to enjoy the sand and the surf. This specular beach is just 20 minutes outside of town, away from the hustle and bustle of Ocho Rios. James Bond Beach has more of connection to the fictional spy than just being near where Ian Fleming lived. This is where many of the scenes for the first James Bond movie, Dr. No, was filmed. There aren't many people who would not recognize the famous scene when voluptuous Ursula Andress emerges from the sea in her white bikini.
