The many hotels near El Morro are not only close to the contemporary amenities in San Juan city but also place visitors in or close to the magnificent historic area of Old San Juan on Isleta de San Juan, a small island off the coast of Puerto Rico. Guests can have their groceries bought and delivered, their kids babysat, and their beauty needs addressed by an on-call beautician. There are scuba diving trips, surfing and yoga classes, and plenty of Puerto Rico tours to choose between. The Cervantes is another of the boutique hotels near El Morro that has been adorned by famous designer Nono Maldonado. His eye for luxurious detail has created a sophisticated backdrop exuding an incredibly romance atmosphere. The building itself dates back some 500 years to the first days of San Juan. Today there are a dozen suites and guest rooms boasting Egyptian cotton bedding, flat screen TV, private bathrooms laden with marble, and custom made mattresses.
