Wyndham Rio Mar

Nestled on the northeast coast of Puerto Rico, the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort awaits those who are looking to get away from it all. Recently purchased from the Westin group and now a Wyndham Resort, the Rio Mar Beach Resort has undergone recent multi-million dollar improvements aimed at making it more impressive than ever. Among the renovations, the Mandara Spa was added, all guest rooms received contemporary Caribbean facelifts, new restaurants and exciting menus were created and the pools and beachfront received added improvements. Whether by yourself, with that special someone, traveling with friends or bringing the family in tote, a Wyndham Resort vacation is sure to have something for everyone.

Say goodbye to boredom at the Wyndham Resort. If it’s activities that you are looking for on your next vacation, how about starting with the 13 tennis courts and two golf courses. All of the tennis courts are Har-Tru courts and are staffed with professionals from Peter Burwash International. You can enjoy a variety of tennis lessons options and tennis packages. If hitting a golf ball is more your thing, then get in swing on one of the two Rio Mar Beach Resort golf courses. A 35,000 square foot clubhouse serves both the Ocean Course and the River Course, and has all the amenities and services you would expect to find at the best golf resorts. On the Wyndham Resort Ocean Course, you can take in the beautiful ocean and mountain views while enjoying a course designed by Tom and George Fazio. The River Course was the first Caribbean course that Greg Norman designed, and when it was built, great care was taken to preserve the native landscape and foliage along the Mameyes River.

If thoughts of lingering on Caribbean beaches is more your idea of a Wyndham Resort vacation, then you can take advantage of the mile-long stretch of soft, golden sand that runs in front of the resort. Between the palm trees, the mountains in the background and the blue sky and waters, it’s hard to not think of relaxing with a cool cocktail in hand. During your Wyndham Resort vacation, you can engage in a number of complimentary social beach activities, or you can head to the water sports rentals hut where you can rent kayaks, sailboats, waterbikes and wave runners. You can also try snorkeling or scuba diving to marvel at the coral reefs found just offshore. The Rio Mar Beach Resort has qualified instructors to help you get certified for some of the best Caribbean scuba diving. If sitting poolside should interest you, the resort has two large ones surrounded by 20,000 square feet of pool deck and patio. Other activities include bike rentals, charter boats and a game room. After a day at the beach, try your luck at the resort’s casino. If you happen to walk away with some extra dough, you can always exchange it for some goods at the golf or tennis pro shops, at the W.H. Smith store or at Jorge Bared Jewelers. If day trips and tours are your thing, the Rio Mar Beach Resort offers six different tours, including a shopping excursion to Old San Juan, a rainforest tour and a visit to the Bacardi Rum Distillery. There are also clubs and activities aimed at both children and teens, so that maybe the adults can escape for a while, perhaps to the new Balinese-inspired Mandara Spa, or beachside for a piña colada.

On your Wyndham Resort vacation, your accommodations can be found in one of the 600 guest rooms, or in one of the 72 suites, 66 of which are ocean suites. Each lodging option features a fresh design, furnished balconies, high speed internet access, telephones, a color television with movie options, ironing accessories, a mini-bar and luxurious bathrooms. As far as the services go, the Wyndham Resort prides itself in its staff and offers on-site car rentals, a resort shuttle, room service 24 hours a day, a valet, laundry and concierge services. If you are looking for a Caribbean vacation package, Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa offers four of them to cater to most needs. There’s just so much you could list about this amazing Caribbean resort, but it is best discovered in-person. Getting here is quick from the east coast, and at just 19 miles from the San Juan International Airport, you are assured a speedy arrival once you leave the airport. You can either rent a car, arrange for town car or limousine services, or take the airport shuttle. The shuttle runs a scheduled route and for one way adults pay $30, while it’s $17.50 for kids. However you arrive, a beautiful tropical setting and an average temperature of 82 degrees awaits you on your Wyndham Resort vacation. Enjoy!
