St Kitts Hotels

St Kitts hotels include some of the best and most charming Caribbean hotels. While there are plenty of large Caribbean beach resorts, much like the resorts popular throughout the Caribbean, St Kitts and Nevis also boast smaller, more intimate accommodation options. This two-island nation is also home to the famous St Kitts and Nevis plantation inns, many of which have been converted from colonial-era plantations built in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
The Royal St Kitts Hotel and Casino’s charm and personal touch won it the Most Creative Business Award from the St Kitts Tourism Authority in 2008. This unique St Kitts lodging is located on the island’s most famous beach, Frigate Bay, only three miles away from the island’s capital of Basseterre. The hotel’s 282 rooms are spread out between 30 two-story buildings, with plenty of green space and foliage in between, creating a feeling of space and relaxation. As a family-owned business, it is one of the best St Kitts hotels for kids, and children of twelve and under stay for free. With its expansive casino and golf course, as well as tennis, volleyball, and basketball facilities, the Royal St Kitts Hotel is an ideal destination for all guests, and is especially accommodating to families.
Of all the luxury St Kitts accommodation, Rawlins Plantation (pictured) is the most elite and intimate. This peaceful ten-room inn was originally a seventeenth-century sugar plantation, and has kept much of its authentic charm and elegance. The building is perched 350 feet above sea level, with the dormant volcano Mt Liamuiga rearing up behind. Set on twenty acres of landscaped grounds, the rooms are individually decorated, and are stripped of non-essential modern facilities, such as mini-bars and televisions. Guests should book a St Kitts rental car and drive to the plantation if they are staying there, or take a taxi, as buses don’t pass through this remote northern area of the island.
There is a good selection of St Kitts accommodation in Basseterre, the island’s capital, from budget St Kitts lodging to 5-star hotels. Bird Rock Hotel is a reputable value to mid-range hotel in the capital. It is located on its own private beach, on South Pelican Drive to the South East of the capital. This two-room hotel has 46 rooms and 19 suites all with the basic amenities, including air conditioning, Internet access, and refrigerators. While there is only one pool, in comparison with many nearby St Kitts accommodations that boast two or three, the Bird Rock Hotel compensates with great value for money. The rooms have either balconies or patios with ocean views and the hotel’s more expensive Superior rooms have king-sized beds.
If you’re looking for St Kitts lodging that comes with the guarantee of an international brand, then the St Kitts Marriott Resort is a good bet. This 573-room hotel is the only full-service hotel on the island. Its new Beach Club now offers two- and three-bedroom villas to accommodate families, groups, or vacationers wanting a little more independence. The resort is also home to the Royal St Kitts Golf Course, an 18-hole golf course that has been hailed as the best on the island. And if golfing isn’t your thing, you can always play the slot machines and tables at the onsite casino or enjoy an indulgent treatment at the resort’s 15,000-square-foot spa. Located on Frigate Bay Beach, one of the most popular Caribbean beaches, the Marriott is a firm favorite with St Kitts tourists.
