Saint Martin Flights

St Maarten flights land at the Princess Juliana International Airport on the Dutch side of the island whereas smaller St Martin flights arrive and depart from Aeroport de Lesperance on the French side. Only smaller aircraft land on the French side.

For many departure points, a major hub airport offering stop overs to the island is San Juan Airport in Puerto Rico. St Maarten flights from the United States are practically all nonstop flights with a few exceptions with connections in San Juan. Many Europeran countries offer nonstop flights to the tropical island as well.

St Maarten flights arrive at the second busiest airport in the Caribbean when they land at Princess Juliana Airport. Frequent nonstop flights can also be found from New York; Miami, Florida; Newark, New Jersey; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Charlotte, North Carolina. However, this is according to the airline you choose and the time of year you wish to visit. Low season flights to St Martin vary. Low season is during the summer months which include June, July, and August. Most visitors wish to vacation in St Martin during the winter months, and you will find more Saint Martin flights during this peak period than during the low or off season.

Cheap flights to St Maarten as well as very affordable hotel accommodations are seen during July and August. The low or off season for the entire Caribbean is from April until the middle of December. During this time you will be able to enjoy cheap flights to St Maarten, special vacation packages, and resorts and hotels cutting their prices to close to half of what they normally charge. As a matter of fact, flights to St Martin are just about half price as well since the airlines wish to fill their seats. The only problem that comes along with finding cheap flights to St Maarten is that many times if the flight is not full, they may cancel the flight to boost the seating on the next flight. During the low season, you will also notice a decline in the number of direct flights to St Maarten.

One great thing about St Martin airfare during the low season is that you can save quite a bit of money and spend it at the local stores. Even the shops lower their prices to entice visitors. On the other hand, some stores close their doors, as they will not see the traffic they normally do during the peak season.

There is one thing you must remember when searching for flights to St Martin during the low season. This is not the low season for Europeans. The majority of French and Italians travel to St Maarten during July and August more than any other time during the year.

If you want to take advantage of cheap flights to St Maarten, then you may wish to visit during September and October. But keep in mind, this is also the windiest and rainiest time of the year. You may not get to spend too much time lounging on the beach if it rains every day.
