Union Island

Union Island is the southernmost of all the Grenadine Islands and is a part of the nation of St Vincent and the Grenadines. Union Island often draws comparisons to Tahiti because of its topographical composition. It is a slim island measuring approximately one mile by three miles. Union Island Grenadines is known for its pristine, white-sand beaches, blue reef-protected waters, and year-round tropical climate. The beaches, reefs, restaurants, and accommodations will make you want to return time and again. One of the main appeals of not only the Union Island beaches, but also those on St Vincent Island, Bequia, and Mustique, to name a few, is that they are naturally stunning. You can enjoy dinner or a walk on the beach with unparalleled views of the Caribbean Sea as the backdrop. It is no surprise why Union Island is a favorite destination for people who repeat travel to St Vincent and the Grenadines. It is also appealing for convenience sake because of the range of accommodations, markets, restaurants, and dive operators.

Union Island hotels can be found around the tiny island, but during times of popular festivals like Easterval and the Maroon during the spring season, hotels may book up faster. Many people who visit Union Island do so via yacht. For those planning to make their yacht home while in the Grenadines, you should know that you can find moorings for rent, and there are also gourmet markets, as well as shopping boutiques and restaurants. Union Island is a favorite destination for boaters of all stripes for a lot of reasons. The calm water, vibrant reefs, pristine Union Island beaches, and the Tobago Cays Marine Park are just a few of the awe-inspiring natural attractions in this enchanted part of the Caribbean. If you are staying elsewhere in the Grenadines, like St Vincent Island or Bequia, you should consider at least a day trip to Union Island and the Tobago Cays area. Even if you are not into diving and snorkeling, fishing or windsurfing, taking in the spectacular views from the utopian Union Island beaches makes a great day trip activity.

Chatham Bay Beach is one of the popular Union Island beaches and is accessible by forest trail or boat. Big Sands Beach located at Belmont Bay is another beach that is also within close range of a hotel and restaurant. Richmond Bay Beach is a sprawling stretch of coastline where you can enjoy sunbathing, water sports, and music and area bars and restaurants. Enjoy steel pan music, rum concoctions, amazing seafood, and the good life in Union Island Grenadines.

There are many things to do on Union Island that are suitable for people of all ages. Novice and advanced divers and snorkelers will find amazing waters to explore and you can boat around the island chain to explore places like Canouan and Mustique. These crystal-blue waters are a paradise on earth. No matter where you end up deciding to stay in St Vincent and the Grenadines, you are guaranteed to have a memorable time. Union Island would be a fine choice and is convenient because of the tourist accommodations, hotels, restaurants, and markets.
