There are strong currents here at times, so you'll want to be prepared for that possibility. Most snorkelers here explore the rocky bottom of the bay, and you'll never know what you might come across while out on your own snorkeling expedition. Sea urchins are something to be aware of when enjoying a day or more at the Davis Bay St Croix beach, as there are some below the surface here that can give quite a prick when stepped on. Generally, if you stick to the western side of the beach, you'll have a better chance of avoiding them.

Enjoying the picturesque surroundings as you kick back is always an enjoyable thing to do, that's for sure. Within 8 miles or so, there are a handful of other hotel options as well if you are not staying at the Carambola Resort. There's plenty to do and see near Davis Bay Beach in St Croix, so if you're looking for a nice St Croix beach with plenty on tap, it's hard to go wrong here.
