Ambergris Caye Lodging

From hostels to fishing resorts, the Ambergris Caye lodging scene has something for everyone, that's for sure. Many people come to Ambergris Caye for the diving and fishing first, and thankfully, most Ambergris accommodations can easily help guests arrange excursions of both kinds, not to mention others. The main town on Ambergris Caye Island is San Pedro, and you'll find a list of Ambergris Caye lodging options here, many falling into the discount category. Backpackers will be happy to know that there are plenty of inexpensive Ambergris Caye accommodations to choose from, while those looking for a little more in the way of amenities will not be displeased either. The Ambergris Caye resorts see quite a lot of yearly visitors, and there are certainly a few that you might consider booking a stay at during your trip. December through April is the peak season for Ambergris Caye travel, so you might want to secure your Ambergris Caye lodging ahead of time if you come between these months.
As mentioned, those seeking discount Ambergris Caye accommodations will want to start their search in San Pedro Town. If you should arrive on the island without having a room secured, it's a good idea to check out different budget San Pedro hotels to compare rooms and such. For backpackers and travelers who might want to save their funds for activities like snorkeling, sailing, dining, and/or going out at night, Ambergris Caye hotels like Ruby's and Pedro's Inn offer budget accommodations where you won't necessarily have to sacrifice comfort just to save some dough. You'll find that a good amount of the budget Ambergris Caye hotels like these will offer a variety of room choices at different prices, which is why it's a good idea to compare a few establishments. Discount rooms with shared baths are the cheapest on the island, while those with extras like a private bathroom and air-conditioning will understandably cost more. Even for the more deluxe discount room, you'll still find the rates to be more than reasonable.
If you've managed to free up the funds for a more "luxurious" Ambergris Caye lodging choice in or near town, the Tides Beach Resort is worth considering. Like most, if not all Ambergris Caye hotels and resorts, the Tides Beach Resort is small, offering only 12 units, which means the staff can better focus on each guest. The Tides has one of the best dive shops around, so if you are coming here to hit dive spots like the Blue Hole and the Belize Barrier Reef, then it can be a huge bonus to have a quality, in-house dive operation. All of the Ambergris Caye resorts, most of which are found north of San Pedro Town, can hook you up with amazing diving and snorkeling trips, not to mention some of the best rooms and facilities in all of Belize. Close to town, Ramon's Village offers a nice resort experience at a pretty good price. The bungalows and suites here might be just what you had in mind for an island getaway, and it doesn't hurt that Ramon's has arguably the best beach in San Pedro. Just a few miles north of San Pedro Town, the White Sands Resort will likely keep you happy during your stay, offering a nice, clean resort experience where the great staff is among the primary attributes. The accommodations here consist of condo units with kitchens and satellite TV. It's ideal for families, especially those who are looking to take diving lessons. There's also a wonderful pool here with great ocean views. The El Pescador Fly Fishing Resort is where anglers will probably feel most at home, and besides offering top notch fishing trips, it also provides some pretty luxurious accommodations.
Not all of the Ambergris Caye resorts are found north of town, however. South of town, the Xanadu Island Resort takes pride in showing its guests a good time in Belize. The pool here is surrounded by lush vegetation, and the rooms are all spacious and full of amenities. For those who want added space and flexibility, you might choose one of the Ambergris Caye resorts that have villas. A few miles south of San Pedro, the luxurious villas at the Victoria House will certainly impress. Imagine your own wraparound deck with ocean views! Not a bad way to go at all. Peace and quiet can surely be enjoyed at the Xaman Ek Resort & Spa. The beachfront spa here might be all you need to convince you to book a stay. The resorts and downtown San Pedro hotels aren't the only Ambergris Caye accommodations options at your disposal. 6 miles north of town, the North Palms Beach House is a unique Ambergris Caye lodging option. This 1-bedroom, 1-bath beach house is perfect for family trips or romantic getaways, and it offers cable TV, A/C, a telephone and more, so you'll feel right at home. Various condo units can be rented at places like Tara del Sol, which has units that overlook the Caribbean Sea. A 2 or 3-bedroom condo on Ambergris Caye is definitely a good way to go, especially if you want a nice kitchen in your unit to whip up some of you own delicacies.
The Ambergris Caye lodging options are many, so book your trip now, and be off to a paradise where relaxation and fun in the sun are what it's all about. Visitors to Ambergris Caye might also consider a visit/stay on nearby Caye Caulker, which is Ambergris Caye's sister island. You'll find a like experience here, and the Caye Caulker hotels have some nice options as well.
