Caye Caulker Hotels

Caye Caulker is basically the smaller version of Ambergris Caye, and both are among the top vacation destinations in Belize. These islands offer plenty of fun in the sun, not to mention relaxation at its best. Things are a little quieter even on Caye Caulker, as the locals are decidedly against over-development, but there have been recent additions to the Caye Caulker lodging scene nonetheless. Budget-minded travelers will be happy to know that there are a good amount of discount Caye Caulker hotels to choose from, while those looking for opulent luxury might be a tad out of luck. That's not to say you can't get a nice room on the island, but moreover, people come to enjoy the outdoors more than the Caye Caulker lodging experience. Thus, many are rather satisfied with less in the way of amenities. Various cottages and condo/apartment-style units can be found among the Caye Caulker list of accommodations, so you might consider following up on a lead there. Also, campers will be interested to know that the Vega Inn & Gardens offers beachfront campsites at a good price. The following are a few Caye Caulker hotels that you might consider for your upcoming getaway in paradise.

One of the top overall values among the Caye Caulker hotels is the Tree Tops Guesthouse. The clean and spacious rooms here go at a pretty reasonable price, and you can't beat the location. You're right in the heart of town, not to mention only 50 yards from ocean. Guests at this wonderful Caye Caulker lodging establishment can choose from 4 rooms and 2 suites. The 2 cheapest units have in-room vanity sinks and shared baths, while the others have private ones. Of course, the two suites are the choicest digs, but you'll likely be content enough in any room here. The base amenities include hot water, a mini-fridge, cable TV, and a ceiling fan. Some units have air-conditioning, and the suites have a telephone and a private balcony to view the sea from. There is also a nice rooftop lounge area where guests can enjoy views of the water, as well as relax in a hammock.

The Barefoot Beach Belize Resort is an ideal Caye Caulker accommodations choice for those looking to truly unwind. It's also priced quite nicely, which makes it an excellent value as well. It's just 30 yards to the sea here, and you're just far enough away from town to enjoy a whole lotta peace and quiet. Guests at Barefoot Beach can choose from 7 units, among them 3 cottages (two of a more modern style, the 3rd being a bit more rustic), a suite, and 3 "tropical rooms". Amenities that are standard throughout are cable TV, a mini-fridge, separate sitting areas, a coffee maker, A/C, a private bath, plenty of hot water, and ceiling fans. The 1 suite is oceanfront, and also features a kitchen, living room space, and a separate bedroom. The 2 cottages differ a bit, as one is more rustic, the other more modern. The host(s) here will do all they can to help you enjoy your stay at this wonderful Caye Caulker lodging choice. Be sure to ask for restaurant and tour recommendations.

Seaside Cabanas is another one of the great Caye Caulker hotels, which also happens to be by the water. After all, to enjoy sand, sun, and saltwater is what Caye Caulker is mostly all about. The Seaside Cabanas is a recently re-constructed Caye Caulker lodging pick that offers 16 units ranging from individual cabanas, to sea view and garden view rooms. Each unit is uniquely decorated, and all are clean, lively and spacious. Four of the cabanas have roof-top terraces that are a welcome addition. In-room amenities include A/C, cable TV, a mini-fridge, and a private bathroom and shower. Different bed sizes are found throughout, so you can choose your room accordingly if needed. You just might want to book ahead during the December trough April peak season to secure the room you want. The freshwater pool at the Seaside Cabanas is a nice bonus, as is the great, 2-story bar. There is no restaurant on-site, but you're close enough to a nice array of pubs, bars and restaurants. One of the things that helps to make Seaside Cabanas a good Caye Caulker accommodations pick is the helpful staff. You can easily plan tours not only for the island, but for mainland Belize as well. A side visit to the Altun Ha Maya ruins, for example, is sure to add considerable depth to your Caribbean island vacation.

The Iguana Reef Inn is an interesting Caye Caulker lodging choice that is part bed and breakfast, part resort. Well-trimmed, tidy, and with a nice private beach, you'll pay a bit more here than at most other Caye Caulker hotels, but should you stay here, you likely won't mind. The quiet setting is ideal for a relaxing getaway, and since Caye Caulker is so small, you can easily walk to anywhere you need to get. All of the 12 units here are quite spacious with private bathrooms, and the stocked and affordable mini-bars are much appreciated by most. Many units feature 2 queen-size beds, while some have just one in addition to a fold-out futon. Air-conditioning is standard throughout, and you can put your valuables in an in-room safe. Should you bump up to a more deluxe unit, extras include a CD player and a veranda, not to mention a bit more space. The 2-bedroom Penthouse is the top of the line, with a TV, full kitchen, and more. Local artists are largely responsible for the attractive furniture and artwork found in each unit, which is surely a nice touch. Booking tours is easy here, and you can even enjoy a little Belize golf at nearby Caye Chapel should you wish. Oh, and there is a bar, and a very nice, new freshwater pool here for guests to enjoy. Rates include a favorable continental breakfast, and you'll be expected to leave your cares at the door.
