San Pedro Belize Hotels

If you're heading to the town of San Pedro on Belize's Ambergris Caye, you're in for a fun and relaxing trip, that's for sure. The Ambergris Caye lodging choices are pretty replete, so you should be able to track down what you need in the way of accommodations here without too much issue. The in-town San Pedro hotels offer the best budget choices on the island, and unless you want to stay in one of the Ambergris Caye resorts that are found mostly to the north of town, a San Pedro accommodation will likely be where you will rest your head at night. The following San Pedro lodging recommendations aim to help you find the right San Pedro accommodation for your Ambergris Caye getaway. It's important to note that most, if not all of the San Pedro hotels raise their rates during the December-May high season.

For those looking for a top budget hotel in San Pedro Belize, Ruby's Hotel is an ideal fit. The different room choices here offer guests the chance to pick what's best for their respective budgets. While all of the rooms are pretty basic, they are both clean and attractive enough, and most overlook the water. Should you bump up to the most deluxe rooms, you'll enjoy air-conditioning, a private bathroom, and your own oceanfront balcony. The most simple rooms here go for a pretty low price indeed, and they are the singles with shared bathrooms. If you decide you really want your own bathroom, it doesn't cost much more to get a single with one. Rooms without A/C all have fans to help keep you a little more refreshed. The tour desk here can help you arrange fun scuba diving trips and things the like, and Ruby's Deli serves up some good fare for breakfast and lunch. One of the things that makes Ruby's a top budget hotel in San Pedro Belize is its location. For the price, you just can't beat this Caribbean Sea-front experience. You'll enjoy proximity to all San Pedro Town has to offer, and you can actually walk here from the airstrip.

Staying at the Ambergris Caye resorts can get pricy and you're a bit away from town. If you want a more affordable resort-style San Pedro lodging pick that is also close to town, the Tides Beach Resort is a nice fit. This newer establishment is run by the Paz family, and the owners will do their best to make sure your stay is a positive one. If you're here to do a little or a lot of diving, you'll love the full-service Patojo's Scuba Center here, as it's arguably one of the best dive shops on the entire island. They offer daily trips to such dive sites as the Turneffe Islands and the famed Blue Hole. Anglers can enjoy fishing trips arranged through the hotel, and the guides will help you find all the best permit, tarpon and bone fishing spots. To head into town, you can rent a bike or golf cart from the Tides, or you can opt to walk if you want a bit of exercise. There are only 12 units here, and they all overlook the sea. Depending on which unit you get, you will have either a private or shared balcony, and though the room furnishings are rather basic, the wood floors and overall cleanliness of the rooms go a long way. You can choose a room with a king-size bed or opt for two double beds, and amenities include a private bathroom, a mini-fridge, and air-conditioning. There is a nice bar here to grab a refreshing drink at, and you can rent various watersports equipment as well.

Of all the San Pedro lodging picks found in town, you'd have to consider the Sunbreeze Hotel to be one of the best. It is found close to both town and the airstrip, the walk to each easy as can be. Oh, and also, you're right on the water, so you can enjoy the beach here whenever you want. The 42 units come in standard, deluxe, and premier levels, and all are spacious and have been recently renovated. Each room has tiled floors, a nice decor, comfortable beds, cable TV, and air-conditioning. Some even feature balconies and great Caribbean Sea views. This U-shaped hotel in San Pedro Belize wraps around a small central pool and garden area, and you can do a little shopping in the hotel's small shopping arcade at your leisure. The adjoined restaurant and bar here are both excellent, offering exotic cocktails and tasty international fare. Watersports equipment can be rented on-site, and the hotel's full-service dive shop is top notch. You can rent a bike to tour about, or head to the Sunbreeze tour desk to line up a fun excursion.

If you want to enjoy one of the cleanest and overall best beaches in San Pedro proper, Ramon's Village is the best San Pedro lodging choice. This is one of the higher-priced San Pedro hotels, at least in or near town, but the perks make it worth it. First off, the friendly owner, Ramon Nunez, was born here, so he knows all about the island. The whole staff here is accommodating and friendly, and you'll likely enjoy the true village feel this place emits. There are no less than 61 cabanas spread over the grounds here, all with thatched roofs, and among them are various suite and room options. You can opt for a beachfront unit if you want, with garden view and seaside units also available. For romantic getaways, the secluded Honeymoon Cabanas are ideal. The rooms are all comfortable, tidy and well-decorated, and though there aren't many frills involved, you'll likely find them to have all you need, including a private bathroom, air-conditioning and ceiling fans. The real amenity is being able to enjoy the singing birds and the surrounding flora from your private or shared balcony, not to mention the nice beach. Hanging out on the dock that juts out to sea here is a relaxing pursuit, and the hotel pool is refreshing indeed. There is a restaurant and bar on-site where you can enjoy a good meal or drink, and you can organize tours at the hotel or rent watersports equipment, a bicycle, or a golf cart.
