I ran across about an article about what to expect in the world of cruises and had some interesting things to say.

    Fancy ships
    Gourmet food on board
    Refurbished ships
New things to do on board
    More online bookings

What's coming up for this year in cruises? Do you have any to add?

    2013 cruise season

it seems cruising is on the way this year...I know Carnival's "Carnival Breeze" has a basketball court, suspended ropes course, mini-golf, jogging track, Ping-Pong, pool, and foosball tables in the ship's SportSquare.

Gourmet food, fancy ships, new things to do on board is oke but it sounds to me that cruising is just gonna get more expensive this year. I was hoping cruise ships would concentrate on more affordable cruises, safety and better customer service.

new ships are debuting in 2013

apparently, the reason behind these new trends is because of last year's Concordia disaster, which affected everything from prices to safety drills to first-time cruisers. It does appear bookings are picking up this year, especially since two new ships are debuting this year, which include the Norwegian Breakaway (in May), and Princess Cruises’ Royal Princess (in June).
