After a rough go during Hurricane Sandy, the 911 Memorial is back open. Even though the reflecting pools and memorial names were under 10 feet of water, they are just fine. The World Trade Center Museum which is under construction is okay, too.

    911 Memorial visitor center closed

Luckily, the memorial made it through the storm, but it's hard to beleive that the whole thing flooded with around 16 million gallons of water. I hear that right now they have capped the number of visitors allowed to the 911 site as they're still cleaning up (temporary hours for the memorial are set at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Also, the visitor center is still closed.

NYC getting back on its feet

glad to hear the 911 memorial is reopened now. New York City restaurants (along Stone Street in the Financial District) are also slowly opening after losing supplies, food and days of business to Hurricane Sandy. Hope the people of NYC as a whole get up and running as soon as possible. My blessings go out to them.
