There are plenty of things to see, do and experience in India. My advice to anyone planning to go there is to know what you want to do before you go there and plan your itinerary. India boasts plenty of forts, palaces, temples, monasteries and ancient ruins, but you can also do shopping, boat cruises, trekking and wildlife safaris.

As a first timer the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra and Jaipur) is a must and a great intro to the country. Kerala and Ladakh are also great introductions to India's mountainous countryside. Also, don't forget to visit India's many hill stations.
