Maine is home to five airports that are located in different regions:
- Portland International Jetport is serviced by Continental Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Delta Express, Us Airways Express, United Express and Jet Blue.
- The Augusta Airport is serviced by US Airways Express. US Airways Express also has flights to Maine that fly into Bar Harbor and Presque Isle Airport.
- Bangor International Airport, American Eagle, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest, and US Airways Express provide flights to Maine.
Hope this helps
Here's another option: You could fly into Boston and then rent a car. It's only a two-hour drive up to Maine, and it's not that hard to find some great deals.
going to Maine
I find April, May and September remarkably cheap to fly to Maine, especially in September right after Labor Day. Where in Maine you want to go? If you wanted to go to Bar Harbor south, it might make more sense to fly into Bangor, though Portland will be much cheaper.
No matter where you go, be sure to tour Acadia National Park, take the elevator to the top of the new bridge at Bucksport, and stop in Camden for a bit of shopping and dining.
