The same as Europeans, UK citizens require a visa, which you can get before you travel, or issued on arrival at Bahrain International Airport for a small fee. While some visas are valid for a two-week period, it is possible to get a visa that is valid for three months and you can enquire with immigration officials at the airport for more information. They are usually very helpful and honest.
Remember also that a tourist visa means you can't work over there and that your passports must be valid for the length of your stay and six months prior to your arrival in Bahrain.
